Copeland’s Remarkable Journey
Quadir Copeland's rise to All-ACC honors is a testament to his hard work and determination. Initially, it seemed unlikely that he would step into the starting point guard role, with expectations leaning towards senior Tre Holloman. However, Copeland seized the opportunity during the offseason and never looked back.
His performance this season defied expectations, especially considering he didn’t earn All-Conference honors in the Southland Conference at McNeese State last year. Betting on his own potential, Copeland delivered a career-defining season.
Key Stats:
- Led the ACC with 205 assists
- Averaged 6.6 assists per game, tying with SMU’s Boopie Miller for the conference lead
- Posted 13.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game
- His steals ranked sixth in the ACC
- Shot an impressive 49.6% from the field and 40.4% from beyond the arc
This season, Copeland achieved career highs across the board, except for rebounds, and joined an elite group of ACC players by recording over 400 points and 200 assists in a single season over the last 30 years.
Copeland’s journey is a shining example of perseverance and talent converging at the right moment, making him one of the standout stories in the ACC this year.
