NC State has its first commitment in the Class of 2027, and the Wolfpack landed a big one for the future in 6-foot-11 forward Jamil Robinson.
Robinson, who is a late bloomer with plenty of room to grow, gives Justin Gainey an early building block in the cycle. The staff sees a player whose best basketball is still coming, and Robinson said the pitch centered on how he can be developed over time.
“The main thing for me was development,” Robinson said of his commitment. “When we had our Zoom call a few weeks back, the staff told me about their plan for me and how they have developed other guys like me at the schools each coach came from.”
That message clearly resonated. Robinson described NC State’s view of him as a versatile forward with major upside, and he said the coaches believe his long-term path points to the highest level if he keeps adding strength.
“The main thing that they said about my game was how versatile I am and how much upside I have,” Robinson said. “They can see me playing in the big leagues one day. They feel that if I can continue to develop and put on the weight, then everything I dream of can come true.”
Robinson’s pledge gives NC State its first name in 2027, and now the attention shifts to a pair of top targets: four-star big man Jaydn Jenkins and five-star in-state wing recruit Jordan Page.
