Three current Canadiens are set to take part in this summer’s Living Sisu League in Montreal, with the three-on-three action beginning July 6 and 7 at Hockey Etcetera.
The lineups for the four teams were released yesterday, and the Canadiens players listed are Jake Evans, Alex Carrier and Zachary Bolduc. Also on the participant list are Laurent Dauphin, who spent the last two seasons with the Laval Rocket, Joe Veleno, who didn’t receive a qualifying offer, and Joshua Roy, who was traded to the Utah Mammoth earlier this week.
The league once again brings weekly summer games to Montreal, with professional hockey players on both the men’s and women’s sides. This season, the women’s league will play on Mondays and the men’s league on Tuesdays, starting July 6 and 7.
Each night features two games, with the first starting at 5:15 PM and the second at 6:30 PM. Fans can buy tickets for a single date or purchase a season ticket, and a portion of every season’s proceeds, along with fundraising efforts, goes to the Pancreatic Cancer North America Foundation.
A number of other NHL players are involved as well, including Kris Letang, Pierre-Luc Dubois, Pierre-Olivier Joseph, Matthew Joseph, Anthony Beauvillier, Simon Benoit, Vincent Desharnais, Anthony Manta, Jonathan Aspirot and Jeff Viel.
Nick Suzuki has played in the league for the past couple of years, but he’ll sit this one out as a new dad. Ivan Demidov was involved last year, though he does not appear to be part of this year’s group. The lineups can still shift as the summer goes on and players return to town.
For anyone planning to go, it’s a good idea to buy tickets ahead of time before heading to Hockey Etcetera at 5290 Chemin de la Côte-de-Liesse (H4T 1C9). Parking is limited, so getting there early is the safer bet. It’s not NHL hockey, but for Montreal in the middle of summer, it’s about as close as fans can get to a hockey fix.

Canadiens Development Camp Just Revealed More Than A Few Standouts
The Canadiens development camp wrapped with a scrimmage that offered a useful glimpse of the organizations next wave, and several names made their presence felt. Alexander Zharovsky, L.J. Mooney, Michael Hage, Logan Sawyer and Hayden Paupanekis all stood out in the session, giving Montreal a reminder of how much talent is bubbling up beyond the NHL roster.
Hage and Sawyer were especially noticeable with a pair of goals each, the kind of showing that tends to linger after camp ends and the pace shifts back to offseason work. Paupanekis also drew attention off the ice with his next step now set, while the Canadiens leave camp having gotten a clearer read on which prospects are ready to push the conversation forward. Hurricanes Blue Line Buzz Just Took A Turn Fans Feared
The Canadiens have already shown how they want to approach their next move, keeping an eye on help up front without rushing into a commitment that could box them in later. Montreal had interest in Mason Marchment, but the hesitation to go long-term says plenty about where the club is headed: looking for real upgrades, yet still trying to protect its flexibility while the roster keeps taking shape.
Across the league, the rumor mill is spinning with familiar deadline and summer chatter, from Carolinas search for defense help to the Avalanches cap maneuvering and talks involving high-profile names. For Montreal, the bigger takeaway is that the market may end up doing more of the heavy lifting than free agency, and that is the lane the Canadiens appear most comfortable driving in as they sort out what comes next.
