Mizzou kept rolling through the opening day of the Mizzou Invitational, finishing Friday night with a clean 3-0 sweep of Towson at Hearnes Center.
It was the Tigers’ second sweep of the day, and the win pushed Missouri to a perfect 6-0 on Day One. Junior setter Nina Mandovic was right in the middle of it again, turning in her second straight double-double to start the season.
Sophomore Paige Felder powered the offense with 13 kills, matching the career high she set in the opener against Western Illinois. Mandovic added 28 assists and 11 digs, while also contributing five kills and hitting .625. Freshman Eva Smith kept making noise in just her second collegiate match, finishing with a career-best four service aces and sharing match-high honors with sophomore Maca Lobaglio at five total blocks.
Missouri set the tone early in the first set and never really let go. Senior Ainoah Cruz opened with a 5-0 serving run, and Lobaglio delivered the first two points with back-to-back kills.
The lead kept growing from there, reaching 14-6 and 18-10 before Towson trimmed it down to four. Missouri still closed out the set 25-19, helped by a .480 hitting percentage that dwarfed Towson’s .152.
The second set followed a similar script. Felder scored on the first point, Missouri stayed in front throughout, and Towson could only hang around within reach.
The visitors got it to 17-14, but the Tigers answered with a 3-0 burst that included a Lobaglio kill, a Mandovic-Smith block and a Towson error. Missouri also served up four aces in the frame while holding Towson without one, and Smith capped the set with an ace to make it 25-19.
Towson opened the third set with a 3-0 run, but Missouri responded quickly behind a 4-0 stretch with sophomore Zoey Matias-Lopez at the line. The set stayed tight from there, and Cruz sparked another swing with a 5-0 serving run that put Mizzou up 16-14. Towson eventually tied it at 19-19, but Missouri finished stronger, closing on a 6-2 run to take the set 25-21 and complete the sweep.
Lobaglio was especially important down the stretch, posting three kills over the final eight points, while Felder added another in that closing push.
With the win, Dawn Sullivan moved to 59-33 at Missouri and 168-71 overall. The Tigers are now 4-0 all-time against Towson.
Mandovic finished with a team-high 11 digs, just one shy of her career high. She previously had 12 during her first career double-double against Vanderbilt on Nov. 2, 2025.
The crowd of 4,365 made the match the highest-attended non-conference game in program history.
