The fall calendar is already packed at Missouri, and the next seven days bring a little bit of everything: a golf opener, a pair of volleyball heavyweight tests, football’s season debut and one more nonconference soccer match before league play arrives.
Mizzou men’s golf gets things started Monday and Tuesday at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Tigers will play 36 holes on Monday before wrapping up with 18 holes on Tuesday. The field is no joke either, with five of the 17 teams finishing last season ranked in the top 25.
Volleyball keeps rolling after a perfect opening weekend. Mizzou has swept its first three opponents without dropping a set and sits at 3-0.
The Tigers host Oregon on Tuesday at 8 p.m., with the Ducks entering the season ranked 25th nationally. Then comes a major spotlight on Sunday at 8 p.m. when Mizzou meets No.
1 Nebraska in an outdoor match at Wrigley Field.
Football finally kicks off Thursday night against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Memorial Stadium. Game time is 7 p.m., and Mizzou enters the year ranked No. 25 after winning 29 games over the past three seasons. The matchup is also a first for the programs, and it will be the first game with the renovated North end zone at Memorial Stadium open.
Soccer closes out the week back at home Friday after a 1-0 loss at Creighton on Sunday. Even with a 21-7 edge in shots, the Tigers couldn’t finish and fell to 2-3-1. They’ll face Southeast Missouri at 5 p.m. on Senior Night in their last nonconference game before SEC play begins next week.
