Mizzou is leaning into its past for a big date at Memorial Stadium.
The Tigers will wear newly unveiled throwback uniforms on Sept. 19 against Troy as part of the stadium’s 100th Anniversary Game, a centerpiece event for the centennial celebration of Memorial Stadium, which opened in 1926.
The look is built to pull pieces from several different eras of Mizzou football and stitch them into one clean, vintage package. The black jersey carries a classic M logo that points back to the 1920s, when Memorial Stadium was first built and Missouri football entered a new era. There is no MISSOURI or MIZZOU across the chest, echoing the program’s earlier years before that wording was added in the 1980s, as well as the cleaner jersey designs that showed up again in the 1990s and 2020s.
The sleeves bring in black, gold and white stripes tied to the 1970s, when the Tigers moved out of the defensive-heavy 1960s and into a more modern, high-powered offense led by Phil Bradley, Kellen Winslow and James Wilder.
The helmet also reaches back through program history. The Block M first appeared on a Mizzou helmet in 1971, and that era shows up in the narrow type and gray facemask. The Block M has taken on different looks over the decades, but it remains one of the program’s most recognizable marks.
There’s another detail on the front bumper: the six Ionic-style Columns of Mizzou’s Francis Quadrangle. Those columns have been a symbol of the University since 1892, two years after Missouri football was born.
Even the pants are part of the throwback story, reflecting the historic shade of gold the Tigers wore before the 21st Century.
Together, the pieces are meant to tie a century of Mizzou football into one uniform, linking the program’s past with what comes next as Memorial Stadium begins its next 100 years.
The Troy game is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. on SEC Network+.
Fans can also buy a Centennial Celebration Ticket Package that includes four tickets and one parking pass for $100.
A Nike merchandise line inspired by the uniforms is available now at shop.mutigers.com and will also be sold at the soon-to-be-completed new Tiger Team Store inside Memorial Stadium. The collection is also being sold at other retailers around Columbia, along with additional 100th Anniversary commemorative items from top brands.

Mizzous New North End Zone Is Already Changing More Than Saturdays
Missouri is getting ready to cut the ribbon on a major new addition at Memorial Stadium, with the North end zone facility set to open when the Tigers host Arkansas Pine-Bluff in 14 days. Finished ahead of schedule, the project brings in premium seating and bumps stadium capacity to about 65,000, giving the program a noticeable upgrade on the game-day side and beyond.
The real impact, though, is likely to stretch far past Saturdays in Columbia. Along with the football atmosphere, the new space is designed to serve private events and create another revenue stream for the athletic department, a sign that this is as much an investment piece as it is a fan experience upgrade. Ahmad Hardy Has Missouri Fans Watching One Huge 2026 Question
Ahmad Hardy has already shown why Missouri fans are paying attention to him in the 2026 Heisman conversation, and the attention is only growing because of what he can mean to the Tigers if he stays on the field. The discussion around non-quarterback contenders includes names like Mark Fletcher Jr., Cam Coleman and Malachi Toney, but Hardy stands out because of the combination of recent production and the sense that his role could put him in the national spotlight next season.
The bigger issue for Missouri is not talent, but availability, and that is where the uncertainty begins to cloud the picture. His return-to-football timeline has been described in broad terms, with possibilities stretching from early in the season to much later, leaving the Tigers and their fans waiting for clarity on when they might actually get him back in uniform.
