Mizzou Just Landed Another Receiver Commitment That Could Matter Big

Mizzou's 2027 class gains momentum as wide receiver Tre Britton III commits, while baseball talent Khamaree Thomas transfers, enhancing the Tigers' competitive edge in both sports.

Mizzou added another piece to its 2027 recruiting class Tuesday evening, landing wide receiver Charles “Tre” Britton III.

Britton comes to Columbia with plenty of power conference interest behind him, and his decision came after a June 5 visit to Mizzou. He ultimately picked the Tigers over the in-state Michigan Wolverines, following his visit to Ann Arbor on June 19.

The Tigers also picked up help on the baseball side through the transfer portal, as Khamaree Thomas committed after spending the past season at Michigan State.

Thomas gave Mizzou a little pop last season, hitting two home runs and driving in 31 runs in what was described as a bounce-back year. He also fits the kind of small-ball, aggressive baserunning approach Mizzou used at times last season.

For a full breakdown of Mizzou baseball’s offseason additions, Henry Chappell and Sophie Silvers have more on Thomas and the rest of the class.

Elsewhere, there’s a notable name on the Ole Miss sideline: L’Damian Washington is now the Rebels’ wide receivers coach. The former Mizzou star has climbed his way into a bona fide SEC coaching role, and it’s a familiar sight for Tigers fans to see him in that position.

Washington was last on the field in Oxford when Mizzou beat Ole Miss 24-10, a reminder of how much has changed since then.

There was also discussion around Mizzou’s 2026 home schedule, with one fan reaction pointing to a loaded slate and a FanDuel over/under win total of 6.5 for Missouri. Among the home games, Texas on Nov. 7 stands out as the one to circle.

Robin Goodmans Latest Roster Move Says A Lot About Mizzous Direction

Robin Goodmans first roster addition since taking over at Mizzou says plenty about the direction he wants the tennis program to take. The Tigers announced the signing of Mariana Higuita Barraza from Medellin, Colombia, giving Goodman an early piece to work with as he begins shaping the roster in his own image.

Higuita Barraza arrives with experience in professional events and a WTA doubles ranking of 850, along with the kind of background that suggests she can add immediate maturity to the lineup. She also picked Mizzou for the blend of Division I athletics and academics, a fit that matters as Goodman starts building a program he hopes will reflect both competitive ambition and classroom standards. Mizzou Just Added An SEC-Tested Infielder Fans Will Want To Watch

Mizzou softball has continued to build out its roster for 2027, and the latest addition brings a little more SEC seasoning to Columbia. Head coach Larissa Anderson announced the Tigers have added junior infielder Tyah Charlton, a two-year starter at Georgia who gives Mizzou another option in the dirt and more flexibility as the roster takes shape.

Charlton arrives with a strong prep rsum, too, having earned two-time All-State honors before heading to the SEC. She becomes the third player to join Mizzous 2027 roster, and the move adds another layer to a group that is still coming together, with Anderson clearly betting on both the depth and upside Charlton can provide.
