Missouri added another piece to its 2027 recruiting class over the weekend, landing a commitment from three-star wide receiver Charles “Tre” Britton III out of Belleville, Michigan.
Britton made the announcement on a CBSSports livestream after taking his official visit during the weekend of June 5. He becomes the third receiver in the Tigers’ 2027 group and gives Eli Drinkwitz another target in a class that is starting to pile up offensive talent.
The national recruiting services have Britton at No. 845 overall in the composite rankings. He checks in as the No. 98 wide receiver and the No. 13 prospect in Michigan. His offer list included Michigan, Alabama, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Miami and others.
Michigan was the main challenger for Britton, with the Wolverines and Missouri both pushing hard for his commitment before he chose the SEC. Michigan currently has one wide receiver pledged in four-star Tavares Harrington, and the Wolverines are also expected to host four-star Dakota Guerrant and three-star Damani Warren, which may have limited room for Britton in their class.
For Missouri, Britton joins a receiver group that already includes four-star Chris Harris Jr. of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Lawrence Britt of Memphis, Tennessee. That gives the Tigers two receivers in the class and a much stronger overall haul at the position than they’ve had in recent cycles.
The offensive group around those receivers is starting to take shape as well. Missouri also has rising three-star quarterback Braylen Warren and four-star tight end Jack Brown in the mix, creating a core that gives the class more firepower on that side of the ball.
Running back remains the biggest unanswered spot. The Tigers missed on four-stars Myson Cook-Johnson and Kingston Miles, both St. Louis-area prospects who are staying in the SEC and committed to Auburn.
Last weekend also brought another running back visitor in Landen Williams-Callis, the 30th-best player in the country, and Missouri is still considering three-star Jeremiah Stonewal as an option there.
With Britton on board, Missouri now sits at 19 commitments in the 2027 class. The Tigers are inside the top 30 nationally, and with official visits still being sorted through, that total could keep climbing in the coming weeks.
