Missouri Wrestling Stuns Oklahoma in Senior Night Showdown Finale

On a night filled with emotion and intensity, Mizzou wrestling delivered a commanding performance to cap Senior Night with a statement win over rival Oklahoma.

In the 50th all-time wrestling meeting between Missouri and Oklahoma - a rivalry that dates back to 1930 - the No. 17 Tigers came out on top with a 23-14 win over the No.

16 Sooners. It was a fitting finish to Mizzou’s home slate, celebrated as senior night, and two of the Tigers’ three graduating wrestlers capped their final appearance in Columbia with victories.

Missouri dominated the middle of the lineup, sweeping the 149 through 184-pound weight classes and notching two tech falls along the way. Both teams entered the dual riding win streaks, but it was clear from the opening whistle that Mizzou had the momentum - and the crowd - on its side.

Here’s a weight-by-weight breakdown of how it all unfolded:

125 lbs - OU 3, MIZ 0
No.

32 Conrad Hendriksen (OU) def. No.

26 Mack Mauger (MIZ) via 4-1 SV decision
The night opened with a tight, tactical battle.

Mauger and Hendriksen traded escape points in regulation, sending the bout into sudden victory. Mauger initiated a shot, but Hendriksen countered with a slick front headlock, spun behind, and locked in a cradle for the decisive takedown.

That gave the Sooners an early 3-0 lead and set the tone for a gritty dual.

133 lbs - OU 3, MIZ 3
No.

28 Gage Walker (MIZ) def. Carter Schmidt (OU) via 8-6 decision

Walker looked in full control through two periods, building a 7-1 lead. But Schmidt came alive in the third, scoring a takedown and pressing the pace.

Walker held on, though, escaping late and weathering a stalling call to secure the win and tie the dual at 3 apiece. Not the cleanest finish, but a win’s a win - and Walker showed resilience when he needed it.

141 lbs - OU 6, MIZ 3
No.

27 Tyler Wells (OU) def. Easton Hilton (MIZ) via 3-2 decision

Another razor-close match. Hilton grabbed a 1-0 lead with an escape in the second, but Wells responded with a late-period takedown, catching Hilton’s ankle and driving through.

Hilton added a riding time point, but couldn’t generate enough offense in the third. Oklahoma reclaimed the lead, 6-3.

149 lbs - MIZ 6, OU 6
No.

22 Joshua Edmond (MIZ) def. Hunter Hollingsworth (OU) via 4-2 decision

Senior night meant something extra for Edmond. Tied 1-1 in the third, he shifted mid-shot from a double leg to a single and finished cleanly to put Hollingsworth on his back.

It was Edmond’s first win since Jan. 25, and it came at the perfect time - knotting the dual once again.

157 lbs - MIZ 10, OU 6
No.

15 Teague Travis (MIZ) def. Ty Layton Schneider (OU) via 15-4 major decision

Travis put on a show in his final home appearance. The redshirt senior scored with takedowns, reversals, and controlled the mat with nearly two minutes of riding time.

This was vintage Travis - aggressive, efficient, and dominant. Mizzou took its first lead of the night, and the energy in the building matched the momentum shift.

165 lbs - MIZ 13, OU 6
No.

26 J Conway (MIZ) def. Owen Eck (OU) via 8-6 decision

With Oklahoma’s usual starter Peyten Kellar out, Conway seized the opportunity. He opened strong with a first-period takedown and added another in the third to keep Eck at bay.

Eck made it interesting with a takedown of his own in the second, but Conway’s timing and mat awareness were the difference. The Tigers extended their lead.

174 lbs - MIZ 18, OU 6
No.

9 Cam Steed (MIZ) def. Trae Rios (OU) via 21-3 tech fall

Steed wasted no time putting this one away. He racked up three takedowns in the first, then exploded in the second with three 4-point near falls to finish the match before the period ended.

With Oklahoma’s Carter Schubert unavailable, Steed took full advantage and delivered a statement win that broke the dual wide open.

184 lbs - MIZ 23, OU 6
No.

3 Aeoden Sinclair (MIZ) def. Eli Cordy (OU) via 22-6 tech fall

Sinclair was on a different level. He tallied seven takedowns in just over two minutes and picked up an extra point after Cordy tossed his headgear - a frustration penalty that summed up the bout.

Sinclair's relentless pace and precision sealed the dual for Mizzou with three matches still to go.

197 lbs - MIZ 23, OU 10
No.

11 DJ Parker (OU) def. No.

12 Evan Bates (MIZ) via 18-4 major decision
Bates couldn’t close out his senior night with a win, running into a buzzsaw in Parker.

The Sooner senior struck early with a takedown and 4-point near fall just 12 seconds in, building a 10-1 lead after one period. Bates regrouped in the second, but Parker reasserted control in the third to close out a dominant performance.

285 lbs - MIZ 23, OU 14
No.

21 Juan Mora (OU) def. No.

25 Jarrett Stoner (MIZ) via 14-4 major decision
The final match didn’t impact the outcome, but Mora still imposed his will.

Stoner, who’s undersized for the heavyweight class, has had trouble with bigger opponents all season, and Mora used that to his advantage. This was their second meeting of the year - Mora also won their matchup at the Tiger Style Invite - and once again, size and strength told the story.

Final Score: Mizzou 23, Oklahoma 14

Missouri closed out its home season with an emphatic win over a top-20 rival, fueled by a dominant stretch in the middle of the lineup and a pair of emotional senior night victories. With the postseason looming, the Tigers are heating up at just the right time - and they’re doing it with both veterans and rising stars stepping up when it matters most.
