The first simulated BCS standings of the 2026 season landed Monday, and the old formula immediately drew a sharp line at the top of college football.
Georgia sits alone at No. 1 in the BCSKnowHow calculation with a .9858 score, and Notre Dame is right behind at .9425. Those two are in their own class, with the rest of the field packed below them.
Georgia’s rise makes perfect sense after its road win over Alabama. That result pushed the Bulldogs to No. 1 in both the AP Top 25 and the simulated BCS ranking, while also handing Texas a short stay at the top after the Longhorns lost to Oklahoma 27-24 in the Red River Rivalry. Georgia picked up 66 of 70 first-place votes in the AP poll and moved to 6-0, with the BCS score reflecting the combination of strong human rankings and the computer side of the old system that blended AP and coaches polls with several other formulas.
Notre Dame remains glued to Georgia’s side after a 58-7 win over Stanford. The Irish are 6-0 as well and hold No. 2 in the AP poll.
Behind that top pair comes the next cluster: Miami, Indiana, and Ohio State. Miami is 5-0, Indiana is 6-0, and Ohio State is 5-1. Indiana’s tight win at Nebraska kept the Hoosiers unbeaten and moving upward.
Nos. 6 and 7 belong to Alabama and Texas, even with both teams taking losses. Under the BCS approach, prior results and strength of schedule still have real weight, and that helps keep both in the mix.
BYU, Texas Tech, Ole Miss, Utah, and UCLA fill out the top 12. UCLA’s upset of Oregon sent the Bruins up nine spots in the AP poll to No. 12, and the computers gave them a similar boost.
Then the numbers fall off quickly. Missouri checks in at .4668, and Iowa, Tennessee, and the teams behind them trail further.
It’s all a throwback to another era, since the College Football Playoff now relies on a 12-team selection committee instead of the old poll-and-computer blend. But this first simulated BCS board still makes one thing clear: Georgia and Notre Dame have separated themselves from everyone else for now.

Missouri Just Watched Texas A&Ms Frustration Spill Into Something Bigger
Texas A&Ms 27-6 loss to Missouri left the Aggies sitting at 3-3, and the disappointment carried well beyond the final whistle. What might have stayed a routine postgame reaction instead turned into a broader conversation about frustration around the program, with head coach Jimbo Fisher Elko taking aim at a segment of the online crowd and describing it as a cesspool while trying to separate those critics from the wider fan base.
Billy Liucci, the co-owner of TexAgs, was among those who pushed back, calling the remarks ridiculously tone deaf. For Missouri, the game itself was the cleanest statement, but the aftermath showed just how quickly a loss can open the door to a larger mess when a program is already feeling the pressure. Mizzou Still Waiting On Ahmad Hardy As Jamal Roberts Keeps Delivering
Ahmad Hardys return is still on hold as Missouri continues to work through the aftermath of the offseason upper-leg gunshot wound that has kept the running back out of action. Eli Drinkwitz said Hardy has not even begun the required two-week ramp-up period yet, which means he will not be available for the Tigers upcoming game against No. 9 Ole Miss.
In the meantime, Jamal Roberts has turned a backup role into a major part of Missouris offense. His breakout season has already pushed beyond what he produced a year ago, and his steady contribution has helped fuel the Tigers recent wins while Hardy remains sidelined and the timeline for his comeback stays unsettled.
