Missouri added another weapon to its 2027 recruiting class on Tuesday, when three-star wide receiver Charles Britton III announced his commitment to the Tigers.
Britton said the decision came down to the people around the program and the bond he built during the process.
"I chose Mizzou because of the relationships built," Britton noted of his decision. "I feel as if Coach (Jacob) Peeler is one of, if not, the best receivers coach in college football and I have strong faith in the people who recruited me."
He made it clear that Missouri stayed in the mix throughout his recruitment.
"I did a lot of cutting schools out, but there was never cutting out Mizzou. It was inevitable and I feel as if it was the perfect fit.
I trust and believe in Coach Drink (Eli Drinkwitz) and Coach (Chip) Lindsey. I'm excited to get down to CoMo in the winter and get started.
I'm 1,000-percent committed to the Missouri Tigers."
The 5-foot-11, 170-pound receiver visited Columbia twice before making his call. He was on campus for a spring practice in March and then returned for an official visit the weekend of June 5. That was the only official visit he took during the summer.
Missouri had to fend off several major programs for Britton, including Michigan, Miami and the in-state school, all three of which were in his Top 3. His offer sheet included more than 20 schools.
On the field, Britton put together a huge junior year, catching 53 passes for 981 yards and 14 touchdowns in just ten games.

Ahmad Hardy Update Just Changed Missouris 2026 Outlook
Ahmad Hardys first season in Columbia gave Missouri exactly what it hoped for in the backfield, with the running back finishing 2025 among the nations most productive runners in both yardage and touchdowns. That kind of breakout changed the way the Tigers could build an offense, and it is why Hardys status has been watched so closely throughout the offseason.
Eli Drinkwitz offered a reassuring update this week, saying Hardy is recovering ahead of schedule as Missouri begins to think ahead to 2026. For a program trying to keep its momentum, Hardys health remains one of the clearest indicators of how high the Tigers can climb next season, even if the full answer on his return still has to unfold. Which Mizzou Home Game Feels Biggest In A Defining Faurot Season
The calendar in Columbia is loaded with the kind of home dates that can shape a season, and Missouri enters with an over-under win total of 6.5 and a schedule that leaves little margin for error. Faurot Field has been a real asset in recent years, so the question is less whether the Tigers can get a boost at home than which visit matters most when the season starts to tighten.
Florida brings the early intrigue on Oct. 3, with Homecoming and the SEC opener at Mississippi State potentially setting the stage for a 2-0 start before the Gators arrive. Later comes Texas on Nov. 7 in a return to Columbia for the first time since 2011, and Oklahoma closes the regular-season home slate on Nov. 28 on Senior Day, giving Missouri another chance to make a statement in a stadium that could decide how far this team goes.
