Missouri gets Texas A&M again on Saturday morning, and for a matchup between conference mates with three decades of history, this one still feels oddly intermittent. The teams have met only 18 times overall, with 14 of those coming as conference games, and this will be the third straight season they’ve lined up against each other.
The early part of the series belonged to Texas A&M. The Aggies won the first six meetings, including the four-game stretch in the late 1950s and the pair of games in 1998 and 1999 after the Big 12 ramped up in 1996. Missouri eventually flipped the script, though, and since those first six losses the Tigers have taken seven of the last 12.
A few of those games still stand out. Missouri beat Texas A&M in 2002 and 2003, dropped one in 2006, then won again in 2007.
The Tigers also went into College Station and won 30-9 in 2010, on the day the writer of the source was married. And the game that probably sticks most in Missouri memory came in 2013, when Henry Josey broke free against the Aggie defense to seal the SEC East title for the Tigers.
Texas A&M and Missouri met again the next season, and Missouri won that one too. But the recent run has tilted hard toward the Aggies. Texas A&M won 41-10 two years ago and 38-17 last year.
Coming into this season, the expectation around the game was that Missouri would probably be taking an L. That changed as Texas A&M lost some of its shine, and now the Tigers are home favorites. The Aggies still bring plenty of talent, though, and the blunt message here is simple: just win, baby.
Saturday’s game is set for 11:00 AM CT from Missouri and will air on ABC, with streaming available on ESPN.com/Watch. Missouri Football is listed on Twitter at @MizzouFootball and on Facebook as MizzouFootballShowMe.
As of last evening, Missouri was a 3.5-point favorite at FanDuel, with the over-under sitting at 48.5.

Missouris Push To Add CJ Gunn Just Got A Lot More Real
A DePaul transfer named CJ Gunn is looking to play this season at Missouri, and the path to getting there has become more encouraging than it first seemed. A legal suit tied to his eligibility has been filed and examined, and the case now looks more compelling than many around the program might have expected when it first surfaced.
For Missouri, the timing matters because any added backcourt help would carry real value as the roster continues to take shape. There are still hurdles to clear before anything is settled, but the situation has moved far enough along to make Gunn a name Tigers fans will want to keep watching closely while the rest of the athletic department, football included, keeps drawing attention of its own. Mizzou Has A Chance To Turn One Big SEC Win Into More
Missouris 45-17 win over Florida gave the Tigers a little more than a good Saturday in the SEC. It offered a chance to reset the tone of their league season, with Austin Simmons and Jamal Roberts both delivering strong performances in a game that felt like a step forward for a team still trying to establish itself in conference play.
Now comes a different kind of test with Texas A&M visiting for Missouris third SEC game of the season. The Aggies arrive off a 34-7 win over Arkansas, so the momentum on both sides is real, and the Tigers have a chance to show the Florida result was not a one-off as the schedule tightens and the stakes start to build.
