Missouri’s 2026 football schedule is set, and Eli Drinkwitz’s team is about to step into a season that already comes with plenty of attention. The Tigers open the year in less than three weeks at a newly renovated Memorial Stadium, and they’ll do it as the No. 25 team in the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll.
The path ahead is loaded. Missouri has five preseason top-10 teams on the slate, and this is also the first year of the SEC’s nine-game conference schedule. Before the grind of league play really takes over, the Tigers will handle two nonconference home games and then cross the state line for Border War.
Drinkwitz is entering his seventh season leading the program, and Missouri is still in the middle of preseason camp. A handful of important position battles remain unsettled, including right tackle, left guard and multiple spots on defense.

The Border Showdown has finally had enough momentum to feel like a true rivalry again, with Kansas and Missouri back on the schedule since 2021 as part of a six-year deal. For Tigers fans, the appeal has been obvious from the start: a familiar, heated nonconference game that carries bragging rights well beyond one night in December and gives Missouri a chance to measure itself against one of the sports bluebloods.
Bill Self, though, has now made it clear that keeping the series going annually after the current agreement runs out may not be simple. With five practices left before the season opener, Jayden McGregory, Jaxson Gates and Khalief Canty Jr. have drawn notice for the way theyve fit into key position groups, giving the coaching staff an early look at how quickly this class can help.
