Marcel Reed isn’t hiding from Texas A&M’s problems.
After the Aggies’ 27-6 loss to Missouri, the quarterback put the spotlight squarely on execution as the reason a season that started 11-0 has gone sideways. Texas A&M has now dropped five of its last eight games, and its only SEC win in that stretch came against Arkansas. In the three conference losses this year, the Aggies have been outscored 93-33.
“It takes 11 people to complete a football play,” Reed said. “The average football play is six seconds.
If we can execute what we need to do, we’d be the best team in the country. But we are not doing that right now.”
He doubled down on that point in a separate remark: "It sucks. It takes 11 people to complete a football play.
The average football play is six seconds. If we can execute what we need to do, we'd be the best team in the country, but we are not doing that right now.
That's my opinion."
The numbers from Saturday told the same story. Reed completed 19 of 39 passes for 187 yards, with no touchdowns and two interceptions. It marked only the Aggies’ second Power 4 game in which he didn’t clear 200 passing yards, and their backs didn’t offer much relief, combining for 47 yards on 16 carries.
The defense hasn’t been able to cover for the offense, either. Mike Elko’s unit has allowed at least 150 rushing yards in each of Texas A&M’s three SEC losses, and Missouri piled up 252 on the ground against the Aggies.
Now Texas A&M gets a Week 7 meeting with The Citadel before heading to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama in Week 8.

Mizzou Just Got A National TV Snub Fans Wont Ignore
Missouris next SEC spotlight game comes with an eyebrow-raising twist: the Tigers matchup with Ole Miss, a meeting between two top-13 teams, will not air on ABC. It is the first time since the SEC on ABC deal began in 2024 that a game of that caliber has been left off the networks marquee broadcast, a notable turn for a league showcase that usually puts its best contests front and center.
The timing only adds to the frustration. Missouri-Ole Miss is set for the same window as Alabama-Tennessee and Auburn-Georgia, leaving fans to sort through a crowded TV slate while the Tigers miss out on the kind of national stage many thought this game had earned. Reactions among Missouri supporters have already been mixed, which is no surprise when a ranked SEC showdown gets tucked out of the spotlight. [Read more 🡒]
Mizzou Just Set Up A Much Bigger Test Than Fans Expected
Missouris climb keeps gaining real traction after the win over Texas A&M pushed the Tigers to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in SEC play. The latest rankings reflect that momentum, with Mizzou landing at No. 13 in both the USA Today Coaches Poll and the Associated Press Top 25, a spot that puts the Tigers squarely in the mix as one of the leagues more interesting early stories.
The next step is a far tougher one, though, because Ole Miss is waiting and brings a top-10 national profile into the matchup. With the Rebels sitting No. 9 in the AP poll and No. 10 in the Coaches Poll, Missouri is about to find out how much of its rise has translated into staying power against one of the SECs more imposing tests. Trajen Grecos Rebound Just Changed The Feel Of Missouris Defense
Missouris defense had been waiting for a reset, and Trajen Greco delivered one at just the right time against Texas A&M. The safety, who had dealt with an uneven start to the 2026 season, answered with an interception and a much cleaner performance as the Tigers put together one of their best defensive showings of the year, limiting the Aggies offense in a way that stood out on the field and on the sideline.
Eli Drinkwitz did not shy away from Grecos early-season mistakes, but he also made sure to point out the rebound when it arrived. The larger credit, though, was spread across the defensive staff, with Drinkwitz singling out Corey Batoon for the way Missouris group was put together and adjusted. For a defense that needed a steadying performance, Grecos turnaround helped change the mood around the unit just as much as the final score did. [Read more 🡒]
