Lane Kiffin’s daughter, Landry, found herself in the middle of some SEC crossfire over the weekend after showing support for Texas in the Red River Rivalry.
Landry, who is a student at Ole Miss, posted a photo from the game and wrote, “a change of scenery,” as she cheered for the Longhorns against Oklahoma. It was just the latest twist in a fandom mix that already includes LSU, where her father is the head coach, and LSU linebacker Whit Weeks, her boyfriend. She has also shown support for Ole Miss, the school she attends.
That juggling act didn’t sit well with everyone online. Her Instagram comments filled up with criticism from fans who took issue with her shifting loyalties.
“Just can’t pick a winning team 🤦,” one fan joked. “Bro lsu AND Texas lost 😭😭 yo please don’t root for ole miss gang 🙏🏻,” one fan added.
“Didn’t your boy play for LSU? 😂,” one fan added.
Of course, Landry Kiffin was simply spending time at a major rivalry game that didn’t involve LSU or Ole Miss, but social media made sure to notice anyway.
While she was watching Texas fall to Oklahoma, her father was dealing with a rough Saturday of his own. Lane Kiffin’s LSU team came up short at Kentucky in an upset loss, and he pointed to the details that hurt his team after the game.
“If you don’t execute, you don’t execute,” Kiffin told reporters. “The punt return, you got a player there tackling him and doesn’t tackle him, and he goes outside and, you know, on the long run, he swooped out of a gap and the ball goes for a long run. If you don’t do fundamentally sound stuff, you get exposed versus good teams.”
LSU’s problems also showed up late, when the Tigers had a chance to close things out but couldn’t finish. “When the chance comes in the fourth quarter, you can’t let ’em hang around,” Kiffin told reporters.
“We had the ball ahead and then we turned the ball over. And another chance to end it there so they don’t get it back.
Obviously, things go the other way, you look at yourself first.”
The loss dropped LSU to 4-2.

Mizzou Heads Into Ole Miss With Two Big Questions Unanswered
Midweek in Columbia brought the kind of tone every SEC team knows well this time of year, with Eli Drinkwitz and several Missouri players talking through the challenge of a road trip to No. 9 Ole Miss. Drinkwitz kept circling back to the need for a complete team effort, and the Tigers spent much of the session discussing health, chemistry and how to handle a Rebels offense that can stress a defense in a lot of different ways.
A big part of the focus centered on Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, whose versatility gives Missouri a layered problem to solve. On the other side of the ball, there was still no definitive word on running back Ahmad Hardy, leaving one of the Tigers' key availability questions unresolved as they head into a matchup that already looks demanding enough without the uncertainty. Mizzou Fans Have Been Waiting For This Johnnie Jones Update
Johnnie DJ Jones has already become one of the most talked-about young players around Missouri football, not because of anything he has done on the field, but because of the fight he has been forced to endure off it. The freshman offensive tackle underwent a heart transplant within two weeks of learning he needed a new heart, a rapid and dramatic turn that sent the Missouri football community and the wider college football world rallying around him and his family.
Jones is now recovering and receiving treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla., as support continues to pour in from fans, teammates and head coach Eli Drinkwitz. Fundraising efforts have helped carry the emotional weight of the moment, and for Missouri supporters, every update on Jones has carried more meaning than anything happening on a depth chart right now. Mizzou Still Waiting On Ahmad Hardy As Jamal Roberts Keeps Delivering
Ahmad Hardy is still not quite at the point Missouri was hoping for as the Tigers head into a tough one this week. Eli Drinkwitz said the running back has not yet begun the required two-week ramp-up after the offseason upper-leg gunshot wound that has kept him sidelined, which means Hardy will not be available against No. 9 Ole Miss.
In the meantime, Jamal Roberts has done more than just hold the job down. The backup has turned in a breakout season, already topping his production from last year and giving Missouri a steady boost in recent wins while the Tigers keep waiting for Hardy to rejoin the mix. [Read more 🡒]
