The Tennessee Titans moved on from defensive tackle Jordan Elliott on Tuesday after a practice incident last Thursday that involved a firearm.
The situation unfolded before Tennessee’s 26-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6, the club’s first victory of the 2026 season. According to AtoZSports’ Easton Freeze and KPRC2 Houston’s Aaron Wilson, Elliott and offensive tackle JC Latham got into an altercation during practice on Oct.
- Afterward, Elliott reportedly headed to his car, retrieved a gun and was apparently preparing to confront Latham.

Veteran defensive tackle John Franklin-Myers stepped in and talked Elliott into backing off, according to the report. Elliott has reportedly been dealing with some personal issues, and the whole episode was caught on the team’s security cameras.
Elliott is 28 and was selected in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He spent 2025 with the San Francisco 49ers, where he recorded 31 tackles and one tackle for loss, then joined Tennessee on a two-year, $8 million deal this offseason.
Latham is Tennessee’s first-round pick from the 2024 NFL Draft, taken No. 7 overall. The Titans’ next game is Week 7 at home against the Cleveland Browns.

Mizzous Midseason Honors Confirm Just How Loaded This Roster Is
Midseason honors have a way of confirming what the eye test already suggested, and this week offered another reminder of how much talent is packed into Missouris roster. Four Tigers landed on the Associated Press midseason All-American team, with Jamal Roberts and Nicholas Rodriguez earning first-team recognition and Cayden Green and Daeden Hopkins showing up on the second team.
It was not just football bringing good news around campus, either. Megan Jolly picked up SEC Womens Diver of the Week after sweeping first place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events at a recent meet, adding to a stretch of updates that has kept Missouri in the conversation across multiple sports as the season moves along. Former Mizzou Star Jordan Elliott Faces Career Crossroads After NFL Incident
Jordan Elliotts NFL path hit another rough patch this week after the Tennessee Titans released the former Missouri standout following an incident at the teams practice facility. The situation reportedly began with an altercation involving teammate JC Latham and escalated to the point where Elliot retrieved a gun before John Franklin-Meyers helped de-escalate things.
Titans coach Robert Saleh later framed the episode as a lapse in judgment rather than a criminal act, and said he would be willing to help Elliot land another opportunity. Elliott had signed a two-year deal with Tennessee in the offseason after previous stops with the Browns and 49ers, leaving the 27-year-old once again at a crossroads in a league that has already tested his staying power. Mizzou Is 5-2 But One Ceiling Question Still Looms
Missouri heads into its bye week sitting at 5-2, a record that matches the preseason expectation in the broadest sense but has come there in a far messier way than anyone could have scripted. The Tigers have had moments that looked better than projected, especially in convincing wins over Florida and Texas A&M, and they have also absorbed losses that exposed the kinds of issues that still linger in this teams profile.
Those swings are what make the next stretch so interesting. Mississippi State and Ole Miss both found cracks Missouri will want to clean up before the schedule tightens again, because the Tigers have shown they can look like a team ahead of schedule one week and a group still figuring out its ceiling the next. The record says this season is on track, but the rest of the year will say a lot more about how high that track can actually go. [Read more 🡒]
