Mizzou’s “Tiger Talk” Returns: A Courtside Look at the 2024-25 Basketball Season

Basketball season is back in full swing in Columbia, and with it comes the return of Tiger Talk - the University of Missouri’s weekly radio show that brings fans closer to the hardwood action with head coaches Dennis Gates and Kellie Harper. Whether you're tracking the Tigers’ progress game by game or just looking to stay plugged in with the pulse of Mizzou hoops, this show is your courtside seat to the latest storylines, strategy, and behind-the-scenes insight.

The 2024-25 edition of Tiger Talk tips off Wednesday at Harpo’s Bar & Grill, a familiar and lively setting right in the heart of Columbia (29 S 10th St, for those making the trip). The show runs weekly on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays throughout the season, with the women’s segment airing from 6 to 7 p.m. and the men’s portion following from 7 to 8 p.m.

Here’s the full rundown of this season’s scheduled dates:

Each week, Gates and Harper will break down recent performances, preview upcoming matchups, and dive into the nuances of their respective teams’ development. Expect film breakdowns, guest appearances, and plenty of candid conversation - the kind of real talk that gives fans a deeper appreciation of what goes into building a competitive program.

For those attending in person, Harpo’s offers both on-street parking and nearby garage access at 10th and Cherry (1000 Cherry St.). But if you can’t make it to Columbia, you’ve still got options.

The show airs statewide on the Central Bank Tiger Radio Network, with local coverage on KTGR 105.1 FM and KTGR 1580 AM. There’s also a live video stream available through Mizzou Athletics’ Facebook page, and for TV viewers, KMIZ will broadcast both the men’s and women’s shows locally, while KMOV will carry the men’s segment in the St.

Louis area.

Whether you’re tracking the trajectory of Gates’ squad as they push through SEC play or following Harper’s efforts to build momentum in a competitive women’s field, Tiger Talk is where fans can hear it straight from the source. It’s analysis, insight, and connection - all in one hour, every week.

So grab a seat, tune in, and get ready for another season of Mizzou basketball, one conversation at a time.
