Mississippi State will send quarterback Kamario Taylor, receiver Anthony Evans III and cornerback Kelley Jones to SEC media days this summer, giving the Bulldogs a trio that says plenty about where the program is headed.
The league’s 2026 media days are set for July 20-23 in Tampa, Florida, and Mississippi State, along with third-year coach Jeff Lebby, is scheduled for July 23 alongside Arkansas, LSU and Texas.
Taylor is the biggest name in the group for obvious reasons. He’s heading into his first season as Mississippi State’s full-time starter after getting his feet wet as a freshman last year. The former four-star from Noxubee County saw action early in the season, then got the starts in the final two games against Ole Miss and Wake Forest.
His season ended with a scare in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl against Wake Forest, when he was carted off the field. Still, he was back as a full participant in spring practices, and now the job belongs to him.
Evans gives the Bulldogs a proven target on the outside. He paced Mississippi State with 67 catches last season and finished second on the team with 831 receiving yards after transferring from Georgia before the 2025 season.
Jones rounds out the group as Mississippi State’s top cornerback, and his stock is rising fast. Some outlets are projecting him as a first-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. Last season, he posted 34 tackles, picked off two passes and broke up 13 more.
Mississippi State opens the season against Louisiana-Monroe on Sept. 5 at 6:30 p.m. on ESPNU at Davis Wade Stadium. The school has not yet announced when preseason practices will begin.

Kylin Hills Next Chapter Should Make Every Mississippi State Fan Smile
Kylin Hills next step is taking him back to familiar ground. New Hope has hired the former Mississippi State running back and 2019 Conerly Trophy winner as its running backs coach, giving the Columbus native his first coaching job and putting him right back in the community that watched him grow into one of the states top players. For Bulldogs fans, it is the kind of hometown turn that feels fitting for a player who meant so much in Starkville and in Mississippi football circles.
Allen Glenn reached out after hearing Hill was interested in getting into coaching, and the move connects Hill to the local football scene in a way that feels bigger than a simple job change. Instead of chasing a college or NFL path, he is starting his coaching career close to home, with New Hope and the Columbus area giving him a chance to learn the profession while staying rooted in the place that knows his name best.
