Kadin Fife has made his next move, and it takes him from one Power Four stop to another. The former Tennessee defensive line commit announced he is now headed to Louisville, landing with the Cardinals less than three weeks after he backed off his pledge to the Vols.
Fife first committed to Tennessee in November after an official visit for the Vols’ SEC matchup against Oklahoma. That commitment didn’t stick once he took multiple early summer official visits and reopened his recruitment.
The 6-foot-4, 290-pound lineman’s official visit list included Ole Miss, Georgia and Tennessee. Louisville, notably, was not among the schools he visited officially this summer.
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Fife is a four-star prospect and the No. 390 player in the country. He also checks in as the No. 46 defensive lineman in the 2027 cycle and the No. 19 player in Alabama.
Fife is also making a high school move for his senior season. He played his junior year at Chattooga High School in Summerville, Georgia, then transferred to Cherokee County in Centre, Alabama. The two schools are in different states, but they sit about 30 miles apart.
Louisville’s addition gives Jeff Brohm another piece in a 2027 class that is now up to 16 commitments and ranks No. 50 nationally in the 247Sports team rankings. Brohm, now in his fourth season leading the Cardinals, has guided Louisville to a 28-12 record over the last three seasons. The program has finished with either nine or 10 wins in each of those seasons as Brohm pushes toward a College Football Playoff breakthrough.
Tennessee, meanwhile, also has 16 commitments in its 2027 class. The Vols’ group ranks No. 43 nationally and No. 14 in the SEC, and defensive line help remains limited so far with JUCO standout Christian Mays standing as the lone commit at the position.
