Ole Miss Stars Dazzle Scouts But Skip Crucial Pro Day Drills

Key Ole Miss prospects showcase skills and strategy at Pro Day, making strategic choices to impress NFL scouts ahead of the 2026 Draft.

In the heart of Oxford, Ole Miss football players showcased their skills at the Manning Center, aiming to boost their stock for the 2026 NFL Draft. With 17 players participating, the event was a critical moment for these athletes to shine in front of about 50 NFL scouts and personnel.

Among the top prospects, tight end Dae'Quan Wright and wide receiver De'Zhaun Stribling focused on catching passes, opting out of speed drills. Wright, recovering from an injury, prioritized demonstrating his receiving skills, catching passes from former teammate Walker Howard. Despite not participating in speed drills, Wright emphasized his resilience and leadership, highlighting his role as a team captain and his consistent performance over the past three seasons.

Stribling, who impressed with a blazing 4.36 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine, chose to skip the dash at Pro Day. His focus was on route running, showcasing his speed and agility in cuts. Training in California since the Fiesta Bowl, Stribling has been working on building muscle, aiming to enhance his physical presence on the field.

Wide receiver Harrison Wallace, known for his standout performance in the College Football Playoff, participated in receiving drills. With a 4.54 40-yard dash at the Combine, Wallace caught a variety of routes, drawing the attention of scouts, including a representative from the Cincinnati Bengals. His impressive college stats and Combine performance have placed him as a notable prospect.

Defensive tackle Zxavian Harris, a towering presence at 6-foot-8 and 330 pounds, did not participate in the open field drills but had previously demonstrated his capabilities at the NFL Combine. Known for his impact on the Rebels' defensive line, Harris is projected as a fourth-round pick, bringing size and strength to the table.

Other participants included linebacker Tyler Banks, tight end Trace Bruckler, and several others, each striving to make a lasting impression. As the draft approaches, these athletes are poised to take the next step in their football careers, with Pro Day serving as a pivotal moment in their journey to the NFL.
