Wild Put Carson Lambos Back In The Spotlight Before Tonights Game

Minnesota's young talent, Carson Lambos, takes a step up to the NHL as the Wild reshuffle their lineup ahead of tonight's game.

The Minnesota Wild have brought Carson Lambos back up from Iowa, giving the 23-year-old defenseman another shot with the NHL club while forward Justin Kirkland heads the other way.

Wild President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin made the move official today. Lambos comes up after starting the season with the Iowa Wild, where he has two points, a goal and an assist, along with five penalty minutes and 12 shots on goal in four games.

Last season, Lambos put together a strong run in the AHL, piling up 19 points in 70 games with Iowa. He finished with eight goals and 11 assists, added 48 penalty minutes and 111 shots on goal, and led Iowa defensemen in goals while ranking third among team defensemen in points.

The 6-foot-1, 191-pound Winnipeg native already has a taste of the NHL. He made his debut at Columbus on Dec. 18, 2025, and logged a plus-1 rating, one shot on goal and one blocked shot in 10:16 of ice time.

Over four AHL seasons with Iowa from 2023 to 26, Lambos has appeared in 211 games and recorded 54 points on 18 goals and 36 assists, along with 160 penalty minutes and 298 shots on goal.

Before turning pro, he spent parts of five WHL seasons from 2018 to 23 with the Kootenay/Winnipeg Ice, where he totaled 128 points in 176 games. In 2022-23, he wore the captain’s letter for Winnipeg and finished second among team defensemen with 48 points, including 12 goals and 36 assists, in 61 games.

Lambos also represented Canada White at the 2017 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, where he was named a tournament all-star after collecting five assists in six games. He later played one game for Canada at the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Minnesota drafted Lambos in the first round, 26th overall, in the 2021 NHL Draft, and he wears No. 55 for the Wild.

The Wild are back in action tonight against the St. Louis Blues at 7 p.m. CT on Wild+ and KFAN FM 100.3.

Ex-Wild Forward Nicolas Aub-Kubel Has Taken An Unexpected Career Turn

Nicolas Aub-Kubels career has taken him through plenty of stops since his days with the Wild, and the latest one is a significant detour. The 2022 Stanley Cup champion with Colorado spent time bouncing between NHL clubs and the AHL, but he is now settling into a new phase overseas after relocating with his family to Minsk and beginning life in the Kontinental Hockey League.

The move has given him a fresh start in a different hockey landscape, and early results have been encouraging. Aub-Kubel has already found a scoring touch in his first games there, a reminder that even after the grind of North American roster life, he still has a role to play and an opportunity to carve out something new. Wild Fans Just Got A New Viewing Option With One Catch

Bars and restaurants across the Wilds local broadcast territory now have another way to keep Minnesota hockey on the TVs, thanks to a new partnership involving the NHL, FuboTV and Integrated Sports Media. The setup is designed to make Wild games available through a Wild+ subscription, giving local businesses a more straightforward option to show the club as the season moves through its regional and national TV mix.

For fans, the appeal is obvious: more places to catch the Wild, whether the game lands on KSTP, KSTC 45 or ESPN. The wrinkle is the same one that has shadowed FuboTV for a while, since TNT is still not part of its channel lineup, which leaves a handful of upcoming Wild broadcasts out of reach for subscribers who rely on that service. Ryan Hartman Is Becoming A Bigger Wild Problem Than Expected

Ryan Hartmans start to the season has only added to the sense that the Wild have a real issue brewing down the middle. The veteran center has just one point in his first seven games, a sharp drop from the level hes usually provided, and his ice time and defensive numbers have both trended the wrong way as Minnesota tries to settle its lineup.

The concern is bigger than a slow October, though, because Hartman is entering the final year of his contract while trade chatter keeps circling. The Red Wings have come up in that conversation, but any move would have to navigate his 10-team no-trade clause, which gives him real leverage as the Wild weigh whether to ride it out or explore a change before the season gets any further along.
