Chicago Wolves Dominate Iowa Wild in Shutout Victory
In a thrilling Thursday morning showdown at Rosemont’s Allstate Arena, the Chicago Wolves delivered a commanding performance, shutting out the Iowa Wild with a 2-0 victory.
The action kicked off with a bang as Charles Alexis Legault orchestrated a perfect 2-on-1 play, setting up Viktor Neuchev to put the Wolves on the board just six minutes into the first period. This early strike set the tone for Chicago, who edged out Iowa in shots, 10-9, during the opening frame.
The Wolves extended their lead late in the second period when Aleksi Heimosalmi unleashed a pinpoint shot from the top of the right circle. The puck ricocheted off the far post and found the back of the net at 17:38, giving Chicago a comfortable 2-0 cushion.
Cayden Primeau was a fortress between the pipes, making 16 saves, including four crucial stops in the third period to secure the shutout. On the other end, Iowa's William Rousseau faced a barrage, turning away 20 shots but unable to crack Chicago’s defense.
