A Week 5 trip to the Superdome brings together two teams with plenty to sort out, and one Saints analyst is making a massive statement about New Orleans quarterback Tyler Shough.
Suit Williams, who joined The Real Forno Show with host Tyler Forness and producer Dave Stefano, didn’t hold back when discussing the Saints’ rookie signal-caller. “Shough, everybody believes in.
People think Shough is the truth. I think he’s already a top 10 quarterback in the league.”
That kind of praise set the tone for a conversation built around two central questions: whether the Saints’ offense can handle Brian Flores’ blitz-heavy defense, and whether Minnesota’s quarterback situation is actually settled. Williams was openly skeptical about the Vikings’ decision at quarterback. “I’d have given it another year with McCarthy,” he said, while also describing Murray as “a guy who lives off of like highlights and playing him on Madden.”
The matchup, though, may turn on far more than quarterback debate. Williams pointed to the state of New Orleans’ offensive line, which is missing Kelvin Banks Jr. and now has backup Asim Richards lined up against Dallas Turner, who leads the NFL in pressures. “The league leader in pressures against our backup tackle, that’s terrifying,” Williams admitted.
Forness made clear just how suffocating he views Minnesota’s defense, which sits at a staggering -0.18 EPA per play. “He is waterboarding you every single play. And it is relentless.”
Williams also took aim at Saints head coach Kellen Moore’s slow starts. “Why does the team start slow every week?
Why can’t we score touchdowns in the first quarter? That just feels like a feature of the system and not a bug.”
Even with those concerns, Williams still backed New Orleans to get it done. His prediction: “14 to 12 over the fighting Reichards.”
The discussion also touched on Quincy Riley, the J.J. McCarthy era, and Williams’ belief that the Saints can still win the NFC South.

JJ McCarthy Is Progressing Faster Than Vikings Fans Might Expect
JJ McCarthy is already drawing strong reviews in New York after arriving in a trade, with Giants offensive coordinator Matt Nagy saying the young quarterback has picked up the offense quickly. McCarthy has not played in a game yet, but the staff is trying to get him comfortable in the system while also keeping fellow quarterback Jake Haener ready.
The next step could come soon enough to matter for Minnesota fans still tracking the quarterback they once hoped to build around. Head coach John Harbaugh said McCarthy could be moved into the backup job for the upcoming game, though nothing has been made official yet, leaving his role in the immediate plan still unsettled. Justin Jefferson Just Gave Vikings Fans A Reason For Hope
Justin Jefferson has been doing more than watching Minnesotas season from the sideline while he works back from the ankle sprain he suffered on Sept. 27. The Vikings receiver recently hosted a Strike Out Cancer bowling event that raised more than $45,000 for the American Cancer Society, and the night carried extra meaning with Jefferson making a personal gesture for a young cancer survivor by gifting two Super Bowl tickets.
It was the kind of off-field effort that keeps Jeffersons profile high even as he eases through limited practice and the Vikings get ready for their next game. The event also earned him Week 5 NFLPA Community MVP honors, a reminder that even while his on-field return remains a work in progress, he is still giving Minnesota plenty to feel good about. Stefon Diggs' Latest Setback Just Added To Washington's Week 5 Trouble
Washingtons Week 5 outlook took another hit Friday when the Commanders officially ruled out six players for Sundays game against the Giants, including quarterback Marcus Mariota and wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Mariotas absence is especially notable because he was already dealing with a knee issue that is expected to keep him out for 2-3 weeks, leaving Washington to navigate the injury the same way it handled his preseason setback.
Stefon Diggs being unavailable only adds to the sense of a lineup getting thinned out at the wrong time, with the Commanders already trying to sort through multiple absences on both sides of the ball. For a team heading into a divisional game with limited margin for error, the bigger question now is how long this patchwork approach can hold up before the missing pieces start to show in the standings.
