The Minnesota Vikings spent Monday filling out their practice squad, officially bringing back 15 players - almost all of them familiar faces from training camp.
The full group includes CB Da’Veawn Armstead, WR Michael Briscoe, G Henry Byrd, C Gavin Gerhardt, G Joshua Gray, S Kahlef Hailassie, LB Bangally Kamara, TE Marshall Lang, OT Tristan Leigh, OT Jack Nelson, CB Bryce Phillips, DL Jahvaree Ritzie, WR Trayvon Rudolph, OLB Cam’Ron Stewart and S Tavierre Thomas.
Fourteen of the 15 were in Vikings camp this summer. The only newcomer to the group is Nelson, a seventh-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in the 2025 NFL Draft out of Wisconsin. He played in 10 games for Atlanta last season, mostly on special teams, and Pro Football Reference lists him as having taken only four offensive snaps.
There was also a report from NFL reporter Aaron Wilson that former Cincinnati Bengals tight end Cam Grandy had signed with Minnesota’s practice squad. But Grandy did not appear on the team’s official list of signings, leaving open the possibility that the report was off or that the deal never got finalized before the NFL transaction deadline.
The Vikings could still add more to the practice squad if they want to bring back quarterback Max Brosmer or wide receiver Dillon Bell. Both were waived Monday to make room for the team’s waiver claims, Nick Samac and Trevor Keegan. If Minnesota does circle back, those two would need to clear waivers for 24 hours before the Vikings could re-sign them to the practice squad.

The Vikings are heading into the season with an unusually crowded quarterback room, and it is already creating a ripple effect across the roster. Keeping four passers in the building, including Kyler Murray as the starter along with J.J.
