Travis Hunter Minnesota Visit Sparks Wild Rumors

Travis Hunter's unexpected Minnesota appearance fueled trade rumors, but his visit was purely business-unrelated to joining the Vikings.

As Travis Hunter took in the NBA action courtside at the Target Center, some Minnesota Vikings fans were buzzing with curiosity. Why was the Jacksonville Jaguars' talented cornerback and wide receiver in town? Could there be a trade in the works?

Hunter, who missed much of last season due to a significant knee injury, remains a hot commodity. Many teams would jump at the chance to acquire him if the Jaguars were to consider trading him. However, Vikings fans hoping for a blockbuster move will have to keep dreaming.

According to Darren Wolfson on SKOR North's "Purple Daily," there’s no connection between Hunter's visit and any potential trade to the Vikings. Instead, Hunter was in town for an Adidas shoot, linked to Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards, who shares the same sponsor.

The idea of Hunter donning a Vikings uniform is enticing. Just picture the creative ways defensive coordinator Brian Flores could deploy him or the innovative plays head coach Kevin O'Connell might design for him offensively. But for now, it's just a fantasy.

In his rookie season with the Jaguars, Hunter played in only seven games due to his injury. As the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, he managed 28 receptions for 298 yards and a touchdown. On defense, he was equally impressive, allowing just a 50 percent completion rate when covering receivers.

Jacksonville initially planned to utilize Hunter's skills on both sides of the ball. However, following his injury, it seems likely that he'll focus more on his role as a cornerback in the upcoming season.

For Vikings fans who spotted Hunter at the Target Center, the dream of seeing him in purple and gold remains just that-a dream.
