The NFL is handing down discipline to two officials after a pair of bizarre Week 4 moments that put referees in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.
According to Adam Schefter, line judge Jeff Seeman has been suspended two games and referee Adrian Hill has been suspended one game. Both were punished for “an instance of unprofessional conduct toward a player.”
Seeman’s case came during the Cardinals’ matchup with the Giants, when he was caught on camera in a heated exchange with tight end Trey McBride. The interaction escalated enough that Seeman appeared to yell “'F- you” at McBride, and the Cardinals star then pointed toward the nearby camera, seemingly signaling that the remark had been picked up.
The exchange quickly drew a response from NFL Players Association executive director JC Tretter, who took aim at the standard being applied to officials.
“This kind of behavior from an official towards a player is unacceptable," Tretter said. "Players are consistently held accountable when the roles are reversed. We expect the NFL to hold officials to the same standard.”
Hill’s incident unfolded in the Vikings-Dolphins game, where he accidentally collided with Eric Wilson. When Wilson moved to help him up, Hill reacted angrily and told the Vikings linebacker to get back to his side of the field.
Wilson, though, later brushed it off.
"That was funny, honestly," Wilson told reporters, per ESPN. "I ended up apologizing to him and explained the situation.
He was cool about it. He understood what was going on.
He just said he didn't want us fighting, me and [Gordon]. He said he was just trying to break us up."
With the league’s ruling now in place, both Seeman and Hill will miss time as a result of their on-field conduct.

Vikings Ugly 4-0 Start Just Raised Three Huge Questions
The Vikings keep finding ways to win, even when the offense never really gets moving. Minnesotas 15-10 victory over the Dolphins pushed the team to 4-0, but it came in a game where the Vikings didnt score a touchdown and leaned heavily on Will Reichard, who was perfect on his kicks and drilled five field goals Sunday.
The bigger concern is what the win may have cost up front. Minnesota had to absorb injuries to key offensive linemen Donovan Jackson and Christian Darrisaw during the game, a reminder that the margin for error gets thinner even when the record keeps getting better. And while the second half offered a better look from Kyler Murray, the Vikings still leave the day with more questions about how sustainable this formula really is. [Read more 🡒]
Vikings Got Caught In A Strange Officiating Moment Fans Noticed
A routine third-down play in the Vikings-Dolphins game turned into one of those odd officiating moments that people kept replaying afterward. Referee Adrian Hill got knocked over by linebacker Eric Wilson after the whistle, then appeared visibly annoyed as he barked for Wilson to get back to the huddle, though no penalty came out of the sequence.
The clip drew extra attention once the NFL on Fox social accounts highlighted it again, giving the moment a second life beyond the field. For Minnesota, it was the kind of strange sideline-to-whistle snapshot that does not change a game by itself, but still manages to stand out in a matchup full of its own noise. [Read more 🡒]
Vikings Suddenly Have A Week 5 Problem They Couldnt Afford Up Front
The Vikings protection problems got a lot more complicated in Miami, where left guard Donovan Jackson went down with a knee injury and now appears headed for a significant absence. It was the kind of front-line hit Minnesota could ill afford, especially on the same afternoon left tackle Christian Darrisaw left the game twice while dealing with a neck injury and concussion symptoms before later clearing concussion protocol.
Caleb Tiernan stepped in for Darrisaw while the Vikings finished out the game, and the bigger issue now is how Minnesota sorts through the left guard spot without Jackson. The team is already weighing its options there, and with the offensive line suddenly under strain, the next few days could say a lot about how sturdy this group really is going into Week 5.
