Kyler Murray has parted with one more piece of Arizona.
The quarterback sold his Paradise Valley mansion for $13.75 million in late September, according to Arizona Sports, closing the book on his physical ties to the state even as the Arizona Cardinals keep footing the bill. Murray is still costing the Cardinals $36.8 million this season.
Now with the Minnesota Vikings, Murray has helped push the team to a 5-0 start. Arizona, meanwhile, sits at 1-4 and is staring at a four-game losing streak.
Murray has won four games as Minnesota’s starter, including the season opener. That outing was brief, though, because he left after one series with a concussion.
The Cardinals’ struggles without him have been stark. Arizona is 3-28 with a replacement quarterback on the field. Joshua Dobbs beat Dallas 28-16 in Week 3 of the 2023 season, while Jacoby Brissett topped the Cowboys 27-17 in November 2025 and followed that up with a 26-14 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1 of this season.
Since landing in Minnesota and working with Kevin O’Connell, Murray has started to look more like the version of himself that once made him such a tough cover. Last week against the New Orleans Saints, he completed 24 of 30 passes for 229 yards and a touchdown while also rushing 10 times for 51 yards in a 23-13 Vikings win.
For the season, Murray is completing 68.3% of his passes.
The Cardinals are in a rough spot across the board after their Week 5 blowout loss to the Detroit Lions. Coach Mike LaFleur said the roster has issues everywhere, and he has no intention of benching Brissett before Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams, who are 2-3.
Murray’s own year has had its bumps too. The concussion wiped out Week 2, he returned against Tampa Bay, but the offense stalled once Justin Jefferson sprained his ankle. Against Miami, Murray needed a fourth-quarter push just to get the win.
In Sports Illustrated’s latest quarterback rankings, Murray landed at No. 26. He was one spot behind Brissett and one spot ahead of New York Giants quarterback Jameis Winston.

Blake Cashman Is Becoming A Much Bigger Vikings Story Than Expected
The Vikings 5-0 start has been fueled in part by a defense that keeps finding new ways to make life difficult for opposing quarterbacks, and Blake Cashman has quickly become one of the more interesting pieces in Brian Flores scheme. The linebacker has already shown he can affect the passer, bringing quickness and timing that have made him a steady presence in a front that has spent the opening month setting the tone for Minnesota.
Cashmans production has also started to push the conversation beyond his role as a reliable defender and into bigger expectations for the rest of the season. If he keeps generating pressure at this pace, he could wind up with a far more noticeable sack total than anyone might have expected in September, which would only add to a defense that has helped make the Vikings one of the early surprises of the league. Vikings' Undefeated Start Just Made One Trade Debate Impossible To Ignore
An undefeated start has a way of changing the conversation around a roster, and Minnesotas 5-0 run has only made the question of what comes next louder. The Vikings have held their ground despite some offensive issues and a few concerns about defensive depth, which is why any discussion about adding help is now being viewed through a playoff lens rather than a survival one.
Bleacher Report recently pointed to Khalil Mack as a possible fit, with the Chargers off to a rough start and the veteran edge rusher still performing at a high level. For Minnesota, the appeal is obvious: a proven pass rusher would add another layer to a defense trying to stay ahead of the curve, even if no deal is in place and any move would have to make sense for a team that has given itself plenty of reasons to think big. Vikings Bye Week Could Put One Intriguing Backfield Option In Focus
The Vikings Week 6 bye comes at a useful time, giving Minnesota a chance to take stock while the rest of the schedule keeps moving around it. The immediate focus is the Titans-Colts game, which matters in part because Indianapolis is next on the calendar for Minnesota and former Vikings quarterback Daniel Jones is now starting there, adding another layer to a matchup the Vikings will be watching closely.
The extra intrigue, though, is whether the trade deadline could eventually pull Minnesota into the market for help at running back. Tennessee has struggled as a team, but one back there has produced solid individual numbers, and that kind of profile can start to look awfully tempting for a team thinking beyond the bye week and into the stretch run.
