KJ Osborn Joins Titans After Vikings Shakeup

Following a challenging season, former Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn seeks a fresh start with the Tennessee Titans amidst the Vikings' ongoing roster reshuffle.

The Minnesota Vikings have taken a measured approach this offseason, focusing on strategic roster enhancements rather than making splashy additions. With nine draft picks at their disposal, the Vikings are poised to explore further opportunities to bolster their lineup as the draft approaches.

Head coach Kevin O’Connell and interim GM Rob Brzezinski have been diligently addressing key areas, including the interior defensive line, safety, and running back positions. However, one area that might be flying under the radar is the wide receiver corps.

With Jalen Nailor securing a $35 million deal with the Las Vegas Raiders, the onus could fall on 2025 draft pick Tai Felton to rise to the occasion. If Minnesota seeks additional reinforcement, they’ll need to look elsewhere, as a familiar face is now off the table.

No Minnesota Vikings Reunion for KJ Osborn

Before Jalen Nailor could take the spotlight, K.J. Osborn needed to make his exit.

Osborn departed two years ago, signing with the New England Patriots in free agency. After a brief stint with the Washington Commanders last preseason, Osborn has found a new opportunity.

The Tennessee Titans have signed former Commanders free-agent wide receiver K.J. Osborn to a one-year deal. Osborn’s journey has been a rollercoaster, with a single game appearance for Washington in 2024 and a stint on the Atlanta Falcons practice squad last November.

In 2024, Osborn saw limited action, with only 18 targets across eight games, converting seven into catches for 57 yards and a touchdown. His most productive year dates back to 2021 with the Vikings, where he recorded 655 yards and seven touchdowns. Now at 28, Osborn is not the same player he once was, but he remained open to a potential return to Minnesota.

In Tennessee, Osborn will compete for playing time behind Calvin Ridley, Elic Ayomanor, and Wan’Dale Robinson. With second-year quarterback Cam Ward at the helm, Osborn’s veteran presence could be a valuable addition to the Titans' arsenal.
