Timberwolves Stun Fans by Waiving Rising Star Johnny Juzang

Despite a promising preseason, Johnny Juzang is set to explore new opportunities as the Timberwolves make a strategic roster move.

The Timberwolves have decided to waive guard Johnny Juzang, a move that opens up a new chapter for the young player. With the official announcement now made, Juzang is set to explore opportunities with other teams before the March 4 deadline for two-way signings.

Juzang, who was on a two-way contract, had reached his 50-game limit, which meant the Timberwolves faced a choice: promote him to their 15-man roster or let him go. They've chosen the latter, allowing Juzang the chance to find a new team where he might carve out a more significant role.

His preseason performance was certainly promising. Juzang averaged 13.8 points in just 17.6 minutes per game over five games, shooting an impressive 48.3% from beyond the arc. However, that spark didn't quite ignite in the regular season.

During his time with the Timberwolves, Juzang was active for 50 games but only took the court in 21 of those, often finding himself on the bench as a DNP-CD (Did Not Play - Coach's Decision). He logged a total of 88 minutes, mostly during less critical moments of the game.

This decision frees up a two-way slot for the Timberwolves, who currently have big man Rocco Zikarsky and forward Enrique Freeman filling their other two-way positions. The move gives Minnesota some flexibility as they continue to shape their roster for the remainder of the season.
