Timberwolves List Anthony Edwards as Questionable Before Kings Matchup Tonight

With key players on both sides battling injuries, the Timberwolves face the Kings tonight in a matchup that could test their depth and resilience yet again.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are back on their home floor Sunday night, set to face the Sacramento Kings in a matchup that could look very different depending on the health of a few key players-most notably, Anthony Edwards.

Edwards is officially listed as questionable due to soreness in his right foot. He sat out Friday’s game against the Golden State Warriors, but the Wolves didn’t miss a beat. Minnesota leaned into its size and defensive versatility to grind out an impressive road win, showing just how deep and balanced this roster can be-even without their star guard.

If Edwards can’t go again Sunday, expect the Timberwolves to lean on the same formula: physical defense, smart ball movement, and a collective scoring effort. Julius Randle stepped up in a big way against Golden State, exploiting mismatches and bullying his way to the rim against a smaller Warriors frontcourt. He’ll be a focal point again if Edwards is sidelined.

Naz Reid and Jaden McDaniels also delivered in that one, bringing energy on both ends of the floor. Reid’s floor spacing and McDaniels’ defensive length were key in keeping the Warriors off balance. And when it mattered most, Donte DiVincenzo came through with some timely buckets, proving once again that this team has multiple guys who can step up in crunch time.

Minnesota’s injury report doesn’t stop with Edwards. Veteran point guard Mike Conley will miss another game with right Achilles tendinopathy. His absence puts more pressure on the Wolves’ backcourt rotation, especially if Bones Hyland-who’s also listed as questionable with a right knee contusion-can’t suit up either.

On the Kings’ side, they’re dealing with their own injury challenges. Keon Ellis is questionable with wrist soreness, and Dennis Schroder is listed as doubtful due to a right hip flexor strain.

Sacramento will also continue to be without Domantas Sabonis, who remains sidelined with a partial meniscus tear in his left knee. That’s a major loss for the Kings, as Sabonis is the engine of their offense-his absence shifts a lot of responsibility to the perimeter players and backup bigs.

Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. ET in Minnesota.

Whether or not Edwards plays, the Timberwolves have shown they can adapt and compete. But against a Kings team also fighting through injuries, this one could come down to which supporting cast shows up bigger.
