LaMelo Ball’s move to Minnesota is already making noise, and it’s not just because of the basketball fit.
Ball just wrapped up his sixth season with the Charlotte Hornets, putting together a healthy run by his standards and posting 20.1 points, 7.1 assists and 4.8 rebounds across 72 games. Even with that bounce-back year, Charlotte dealt him to the Timberwolves in a package that sent Ball and Josh Green to Minnesota in exchange for Naz Reid and a heavy haul of draft picks.
Now he’s set to team with Anthony Edwards in a reshaped Timberwolves backcourt, but Ball’s arrival has also been announced in true LaMelo fashion: with a car that looks built to go viral.
A video shared by NBACentral on X, captioned "LaMelo's new Cybertruck has hit the streets of Minnesota," shows Ball cruising around town in a fully customized Tesla Cybertruck. The truck is anything but stock.
It has a matte black wrap, custom red wheels, red underglow lights and his "LF" logo on the back panel. The inside keeps the same look, with red custom seats, matching LED dash lights and branded floor mats.
Fans jumped on it immediately.
One wrote, "That thing looks like it drove straight out of a video game, the wheel wells alone are unreal."
Another added, "LaMelo really treats every arrival like a video game cutscene."
A third joked, "At least somebody will get ran over in a cool car."
The fourth viewer penned, "14-year-old Elon stans everywhere are losing their minds."
And if that wasn’t enough, the Cybertruck isn’t even the only new ride Ball has shown off since landing in town. Just days earlier, he was seen with a matte all-black Mercedes-AMG G-Wagon that also carries his "LF" logo embroidered on the headrests and custom blacked-out wheels.
That joins a long list of eye-popping vehicles already tied to Ball, including a neon yellow Rolls-Royce Cullinan, an all-red Lamborghini Urus and a bright yellow Ferrari F8 Tributo supercar.
So while Minnesota waits to see how the new-look roster performs when training camp starts, Ball has already made one thing clear: his car collection is coming with him.

Timberwolves Just Made Their Boldest Case Yet To LeBron James
The Timberwolves used a recent introduction of LaMelo Ball and Josh Green to make a broader point about where the roster stands now, and Gersson Rosas did not shy away from selling the teams direction. Minnesotas front office has been leaning into the idea that the group around its core is deeper and more appealing than it has been in years, with recent success giving the organization a stronger voice as it tries to attract established talent and the next wave of free agents.
LeBron James is the biggest name in that conversation, and Minnesotas pitch has been aimed at showing that this is no longer a franchise simply hoping to be taken seriously. The Wolves are presenting themselves as a team with real momentum and a legitimate path forward, while James weighs his next move and other contenders continue to circle. [Read more 🡒]
Timberwolves Are Making A Franchise-Altering Push For LeBron James
Tim Connellys latest comments put a little more shape around Minnesotas pursuit of LeBron James, and they also showed how the Timberwolves are trying to sell the idea of coming to the Twin Cities. The front office leader said the pitch centers on a fun environment and the chance to pile up wins, which is the kind of message a team with bigger ambitions than its recent history has to make when it reaches for a player of James stature.
Minnesota is reportedly one of five teams in the mix, with Miami, Golden State, Philadelphia and Cleveland also mentioned, but the broader picture still feels unsettled. There is no timeline on James decision and no real indication yet of which club sits closest to the finish line, leaving the Wolves in the familiar position of waiting to see whether an aggressive recruitment effort turns into something far more franchise-altering.
