Julius Randle is settling into life in Minnesota - and he’s doing it with style, both on and off the court.
The three-time All-Star forward, now suiting up for the Timberwolves, has found more than just a basketball fit in the Twin Cities. He’s embracing the full Minnesota sports experience, and that includes showing love for the local NHL squad.
Earlier this week, Randle took a break from the hardwood to bring his two sons out to St. Paul’s Grand Casino Arena to catch the Wild take on the Washington Capitals.

Rocking a Wild jersey and clearly enjoying the atmosphere, Randle posted a video to social media, saying, “Got the family out here, super excited we were able to catch a game. Sick atmosphere.
Thank you for having me.”
This wasn’t just a casual drop-in. Randle has been vocal in his support for the Wild, especially after the team’s big midseason swing to acquire star defenseman Quinn Hughes. The Timberwolves’ veteran had already tweeted his excitement about the move, and now he’s showing up in person to support the squad.
And he picked a great time to jump on the bandwagon. The Wild are rolling - winners of four straight and sitting in third place in the Western Conference at 19-9-5. The energy in the building is real, and it’s not hard to see why.
Minnesota made a major splash by trading for Hughes, the reigning Norris Trophy winner. To land him, the Wild sent a serious package to Vancouver: Marco Rossi, Liam Ohgren, Zeev Buium, and a 2026 first-round pick. That’s a big haul, but Hughes is already proving he’s worth the price.
In his Wild debut against the Bruins, Hughes found the back of the net. Then, in front of Randle and the home crowd on Tuesday, he notched an assist that helped Minnesota jump out to a 2-0 lead over the Capitals. The fans are already embracing him - and he’s delivering right back.
As for Randle, this kind of engagement speaks volumes. He’s not just showing up for the Timberwolves - he’s buying into the entire Minnesota sports culture.
That kind of presence resonates with fans. It’s not every day you see a high-profile NBA player courtside one night and rinkside the next, genuinely supporting his fellow athletes.
No. 30 is clearly enjoying his time in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. And if Quinn Hughes keeps producing like this, maybe Randle will keep bringing the good vibes - and maybe even a little hockey luck - to the Wild.
