Anthony Edwards didn’t give much away when asked about the possibility of LeBron James landing with the Timberwolves, but the little he did say was enough to keep the rumor mill spinning.
James’ next move remains one of the biggest questions in the NBA, and Minnesota has been mentioned as a team in the mix for his services. Still, when Edwards was pressed on the idea of the Wolves being in that conversation, he kept it brief.

That answer points in a pretty clear direction if you take it at face value. Edwards seemed to be acknowledging that Minnesota was not among the three teams Shams Charania reported earlier this week as the leading candidates: the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Miami Heat, and the Philadelphia 76ers.
But the clip also left room for interpretation. Edwards was smirking when the question came up, and he was smirking again after he answered. He also started with, “I can’t,” before following it with, “I have nothing to say about it.”
That’s the kind of detail that gets fans talking. Maybe it was nothing more than a slip of the tongue.
Maybe Edwards was joking around and doesn’t know anything about James’ decision at all. Or maybe he does know more than he let on.
If James is still seriously weighing Minnesota, Edwards would be a natural part of that conversation. He’s the team’s best player, and the two were Olympic teammates in 2024.
None of that means LeBron is headed to the Twin Cities. It just means Edwards’ reaction didn’t exactly shut the door on the idea.
And from a basketball standpoint, the fit is easy to see. Minnesota would give James a power forward spot and the kind of connectivity and scoring touch he’s known for.
With Ant and LaMelo Ball in the backcourt, the Wolves would have plenty of creation and playmaking around him. On paper, the setup would give James a strong path to contention.
For now, though, the only thing that’s certain is that Edwards’ short answer raised more questions than it settled. LeBron’s decision remains a mystery until he makes it official.
