Las Vegas Centennial's standout safety, Maxwell Miles, is making waves in Nevada's 2027 class. With offers rolling in from schools like Minnesota, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Boise State, and New Mexico, Miles is proving to be a hot commodity. Ranked as the #5 player in the state by 247Sports, his talent is undeniable.
Minnesota was quick to recognize his potential, becoming his first Big Ten and power-four offer back in January. Head coach P.J.
Fleck personally extended the offer during a visit to Miles' high school. Not long after, defensive coordinator Danny Collins followed up with an in-home visit, emphasizing the Gophers' family-first culture and discussing how Miles could fit into their defensive schemes.
Miles has now locked in an official visit to Minnesota for their Summer Splash weekend on May 29th. He'll be joining other defensive prospects like Kason Clayborne, Bryce Kish, Sean Rice, Hunter Haug, and Andre Hyppolite, all set to explore what the Gophers have to offer.
Reflecting on Collins' visit, Miles shared, "Coach Collins really made us feel at home, discussing everything from defensive expectations to family backgrounds. It was a great visit, and I truly appreciate the effort."
A spring visit to the Twin Cities is also on the horizon. Miles expressed his excitement, saying, "I'm stoked about Minnesota.
I can really see myself being part of the Gopher family. My parents and I are planning a trip up there soon."
With his recruitment heating up, Miles is a name to watch as he navigates the next steps in his promising football journey.
