Jett Feeney Joins Minnesota Football After Stellar High School Career

Moorhead's Jett Feeney, a standout quarterback with impressive stats and pivotal leadership, commits to Minnesota, marking a significant recruitment milestone for the Golden Gophers.

Moorhead's own Jett Feeney has been turning heads as one of Minnesota's standout quarterbacks. Leading the Spuds to the 6A State Championship game, Feeney's stats are nothing short of impressive.

Over his three-year tenure as the starting quarterback, he's amassed nearly 8,000 passing yards and 104 touchdowns, with only two interceptions in his junior year. That's the kind of precision and poise that catches attention.

The University of Minnesota's Golden Gophers have had their eyes on Feeney for quite some time. He's been a familiar face at their games, practices, and summer camps.

After a January visit from head coach P.J. Fleck and offensive coordinator Greg Harbaugh, the Gophers extended their first power-four offer to Feeney, joining other offers like North Dakota State.

Feeney recently committed to the Golden Gophers, marking a significant addition to their roster. This commitment is part of a unique trifecta, as Minnesota now boasts three recruits from Moorhead High School, including running back Taye Reich and wide receiver David Mack. It's a rare occurrence for the Gophers to pull three players from the same high school, making this a noteworthy development.

Feeney's commitment is significant for Minnesota, as they haven't often recruited in-state quarterbacks. The last to join was Max Shikenjanski from Stillwater, who came on as a walk-on.

Others like Cole Kramer and Zack Annexstad also hail from Minnesota, but Feeney stands out with his consistent improvement. His completion rate soared to a career-high 74.6% in 2025, while keeping interceptions to a minimum.

Standing over 6-1, Feeney is adept at navigating the pocket and isn't afraid to scramble when necessary. Offensive coordinator Greg Harbaugh will now have the opportunity to work with Feeney alongside California's Furian Inferrera, forming a dynamic duo for the 2027 class. The Gophers' future looks promising with Feeney in the mix, and fans should be eager to see how his skills translate to the college level.
