Indiana and Ole Miss Extend Dominant Home Streaks Into 2026 Season

As college football heads into 2026, a season of fallen fortresses leaves just a handful of programs clinging to impressive home win streaks.

Power Four Home-Field Streaks Entering 2026: Who’s Still Standing, and Who’s Next to Fall?

Home-field advantage in college football can be a moving target. One season, it’s a fortress.

The next, it’s just another patch of turf. As we head into the 2026 season, the volatility of these streaks is front and center.

At the start of 2025, 14 Power Four programs (plus Notre Dame) carried home win streaks of at least four games. By season’s end?

Only one-Indiana-still had theirs alive.

That’s how fast things shift. Even powerhouses like Georgia (34 straight at home) and Washington (22) saw their runs snapped on the same weekend.

Alabama, Arizona State, Missouri, and Oregon all cracked double-digit streaks before falling. Now, it’s Indiana and Ole Miss holding the longest active runs among Power Four schools, with 15 and 12 wins, respectively.

Let’s take a closer look at the longest active home win streaks heading into 2026-and the major hurdles each team will face to keep the streak alive.

Indiana (15 games) - Memorial Stadium, Bloomington

No one saw this coming two years ago. Since Curt Cignetti took over in 2024, Indiana has turned Memorial Stadium into a no-go zone for opponents.

The Hoosiers have rattled off 15 straight at home, the longest active streak in the FBS. To put that in context, they went just 14-17 at home over the five seasons before Cignetti arrived.

But here’s the catch: only one of those 15 wins came against a ranked opponent. That’s about to change.

Both Ohio State and USC are slated to visit Bloomington this fall, and both are already ranked in early top-25 projections. If Indiana wants to prove this streak is more than just favorable scheduling, they’ll get their shot in 2026.

Ole Miss (12 games) - Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, Oxford

Pete Golding is stepping into his first full season at the helm, but he’s already 1-0 at The Grove after leading the Rebels to a College Football Playoff first-round win at home last December. That win pushed Ole Miss’s home streak to 12 games-and the early part of 2026 will tell us a lot about how long it can last.

Lane Kiffin returns to Oxford with LSU, and that’s just the start. Georgia and Missouri are also set to visit, making this one of the tougher home schedules in the SEC. The Rebels won’t be able to sneak through this stretch-they’ll have to earn every yard.

Texas (9 games) - DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin

The Longhorns have been quietly dominant at home, finishing undefeated in Austin for the second time in three seasons. Their only home loss in that span?

A 2024 matchup against Georgia. Now riding a nine-game streak, Texas faces a major early test in 2026 when Ohio State comes to town for the back end of a home-and-home.

Beyond that, most of their toughest games are on the road. Ole Miss is the only other projected top-25 team visiting Austin. So while the Buckeyes will be a massive early challenge, the Longhorns have a path to extend this run-if they handle business early.

Ohio State (8 games) - Ohio Stadium, Columbus

No program has been more consistent at home in the 21st century than Ohio State. The Buckeyes are 160-15 at The Shoe since 2000-a staggering .914 winning percentage. And since 2016, only Michigan (twice) and Oregon have walked out of Columbus with a win.

The Buckeyes enter 2026 with an eight-game home win streak and a schedule that includes both of those recent spoilers-Michigan and Oregon-coming back to town. If Ryan Day and company want to keep the streak alive, they’ll need to exorcise some recent demons.

Texas Tech (8 games) - Jones AT&T Stadium, Lubbock

It took 17 years, but Texas Tech finally put together a perfect home season in 2025. The Red Raiders went unbeaten in Lubbock and now own an eight-game home streak heading into the new year.

But 2026 will raise the difficulty level. Four of the six teams ranked just below Tech in early Big 12 power rankings-Arizona, Arizona State, Houston, and TCU-are all coming to town.

That’s a much tougher slate than 2025, when only one visiting team finished with a winning record. The Red Raiders will need to prove last year wasn’t a fluke.

BYU (7 games) - LaVell Edwards Stadium, Provo

If not for a surprising 2024 home loss to Kansas, BYU would be tied with Ole Miss on this list. Instead, the Cougars sit at seven straight heading into 2026, having won every home game since that upset.

This year’s home schedule? Brutal.

A national title contender is coming to Provo, along with Arizona and Arizona State, two teams projected to be in the Big 12’s top five. If BYU can navigate that gauntlet, this streak could become one of the most impressive in the country.

Minnesota (7 games) - Huntington Bank Stadium, Minneapolis

Here’s a sneaky stat: Minnesota went 0-5 on the road in 2025-but didn’t lose once at home. It was the Gophers’ first undefeated home season since 1967, and they’ll carry a seven-game streak into 2026.

The early slate includes a nonconference matchup with Mississippi State in Week 2, but the real drama starts in Big Ten play. Iowa and Michigan both come to Minneapolis, and history hasn’t been kind: Minnesota has lost 18 straight at home to Michigan and five in a row to Iowa. If the Gophers want to change the narrative, this is the year to do it.

USC (7 games) - LA Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles

Lincoln Riley has figured out how to win at home since USC joined the Big Ten. Road games?

Still a work in progress. But the Coliseum was kind to the Trojans in 2025, and they’ll look to build on a seven-game home streak in 2026.

It won’t be easy. Ohio State, Oregon, and Washington are all coming to LA-three teams already ranked in early top-25 projections. If USC wants to stay in the national conversation, they’ll need to protect their home turf against some of the best in the country.

Vanderbilt (7 games) - FirstBank Stadium, Nashville

Yes, Vanderbilt. The Commodores went undefeated at home in 2025 for the first time since 1982-and just the fourth time since 1945. It was a season to remember in Nashville, but 2026 brings a reality check.

Alabama, Ole Miss, and Tennessee are all coming to town. That’s a murderer’s row of SEC opponents, and it’ll take something special to keep this streak alive. But after what Vandy pulled off last year, you can’t rule anything out.

Final Thoughts

Home win streaks in college football are fragile. One bad Saturday, and it’s over.

But they also tell us something about where programs are headed-and who’s building something sustainable. As we enter 2026, Indiana and Ole Miss lead the pack, but the real story will be who can survive the gauntlet ahead.

Because in this sport, keeping the streak alive is never just about playing at home-it’s about proving you belong at the top.
