Miles Bridges Drawing Trade Interest as Hornets Set High Price Tag
With the NBA trade deadline fast approaching, the Charlotte Hornets are becoming one of the more intriguing teams to watch-and not just because of their lottery-bound record. Forward Miles Bridges, a longtime staple in Charlotte, is generating serious interest from contending teams looking to make a splash. And based on his production, it’s easy to see why.
Bridges is quietly putting together another strong campaign, averaging 18.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. That kind of consistency isn't new-he’s now posted 18+ points per game in four straight seasons, dating back to his breakout in 2021-22.
He’s also climbed the Hornets' record books, recently moving into third place on the franchise’s all-time scoring list. That’s no small feat, especially for a player who's spent his entire eight-year career in Charlotte.
Naturally, teams with championship aspirations are circling. According to league sources, the Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, and Phoenix Suns have all expressed interest in acquiring Bridges.
But prying him away from the Hornets won’t be easy. Charlotte is reportedly seeking multiple first-round picks in return-a steep asking price, but one that reflects Bridges’ value as a two-way wing in his prime.
Milwaukee, in particular, is said to be pushing hard. After an uneven start to the season, the Bucks are looking to retool on the fly, and Bridges fits the mold of the kind of versatile forward who could thrive alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. But so far, their offers haven’t moved the needle for Charlotte.
One sticking point? The Hornets reportedly have little interest in Kyle Kuzma, a player Milwaukee has been linked to in trade talks. Draft assets are playing a major role in negotiations, and Charlotte appears to be holding firm on its demand for significant future capital.
Another name that’s surfaced in discussions is Bobby Portis. The veteran forward has a connection to Hornets head coach Charles Lee, who was an assistant in Milwaukee during Portis’ time there, including the 2021 title run. That familiarity could be a factor if talks between the two teams progress.
For now, Bridges remains in Charlotte, but the clock is ticking. With multiple contenders in the mix and the Hornets open to dealing, this is a situation worth watching closely. Whether Charlotte ultimately pulls the trigger will likely come down to whether a team is willing to meet their price-and how serious the Hornets are about reshaping their roster for the future.
