Tyler Herro didn’t hide his feelings when he found out he was headed to Milwaukee in the Giannis Antetokounmpo deal.
On Tuesday, Herro posted a 15-minute YouTube video titled “Everything Changed in Paris,” and tucked inside the offseason vlog was his live reaction to the trade that sent him to the Bucks. The clip shows Herro watching ESPN as Shams Charania reported that Antetokounmpo was focused on either Boston or Miami, before the video cuts to Herro processing the news that he was the one going back to Milwaukee.
“Back to the f---in crib dog!” Herro said. “Y’all done lost your motherf---ing mind”
With “The Boys Are Back in Town” by Thin Lizzy playing, Herro leaned into the moment and even flashed a photoshopped image of himself in a Bucks jersey. For a player born in Milwaukee, the move clearly landed as more than just another NBA transaction.
Herro was born in Milwaukee and grew up in Greenfield, Wisconsin, where he starred at Whitnall High School and averaged 32.9 points per game as a senior. He originally committed to Wisconsin before changing course and spending one season at Kentucky, then entered the NBA as the No. 13 pick in the 2019 draft by Miami.
The trade itself was massive. Miami landed Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis, while Milwaukee received Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, the No. 13 pick in the 2026 draft that became Nate Ament, a 2031 unprotected first-round pick, a 2033 unprotected first-round pick, a 2030 first-round pick swap and a 2033 second-round pick.
Herro was the centerpiece of Milwaukee’s return, and his résumé explains why. He was an All-Star in 2025 and the Sixth Man of the Year in 2022, and has built a reputation as one of the league’s most dependable scorers and shooters.
The Bucks also added Ware, Jaquez Jr. and Jakucionis in the deal, giving them a mix of established production and young talent around the franchise’s new direction.
