Myles Turner Linked to Major Move If Giannis Leaves Milwaukee

If the Bucks entertain a blockbuster Giannis trade, Myles Turner could quickly become one of the most intriguing secondary pieces on the NBA trade market.

While most of the trade buzz around the Milwaukee Bucks continues to orbit Giannis Antetokounmpo, there's another name quietly gaining traction in league circles: Myles Turner. According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, if the Bucks ever decide to hit the reset button and entertain offers for Giannis, Turner could quickly become one of the more intriguing centers on the trade market.

Let’s be clear-Milwaukee isn’t shopping Giannis right now. The organization remains committed to building around their two-time MVP.

But in the NBA, things can shift fast. If that commitment wavers or the Bucks decide to pivot toward a retool or rebuild, Turner’s name is one to watch closely.

Turner, currently putting up averages of 12.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game, isn’t lighting up the box score this season. But context matters.

He’s still one of the league’s better rim protectors, and his ability to stretch the floor as a center makes him a valuable asset in today’s NBA. If Milwaukee were to move into asset-gathering mode, Turner could be a key piece to help stock the cupboard.

Fischer pointed out something that could make Turner especially appealing: his contract. At $25 million this season, Turner is significantly more affordable than other big-name centers potentially on the move.

Anthony Davis, for example, is earning $54 million and comes with a lengthy injury history. Domantas Sabonis is north of $42 million.

Turner’s price tag makes him a more attainable target for teams looking to upgrade at the five without blowing up their cap sheet.

There’s also a potential match brewing out West. The Golden State Warriors have reportedly shown interest in Turner before, and they now possess a near-perfect salary match in Jonathan Kuminga.

If the Warriors were to package Kuminga with some draft capital, that could be the foundation of a compelling offer. It’s speculative at this point, but it’s the kind of framework that makes sense for both sides-especially if Milwaukee eventually shifts gears.

For now, though, the Bucks are still operating as buyers. The front office is focused on retooling the roster around Giannis, not tearing it down. That means Turner, like Giannis, is likely staying put-at least for the time being.

But if the Bucks stumble and the season starts to slip away, don’t be surprised if this entire conversation comes roaring back. Turner may not be the headline name in Milwaukee, but he could end up being one of the most talked-about players if the Bucks decide to pivot.
