Bucks Trade Victor Oladipo to Cavaliers in Intriguing Move

Victor Oladipo's NBA comeback journey takes a new turn as he's traded to the Cleveland Charge, seeking to rejuvenate his career despite ongoing challenges.

Victor Oladipo's journey through the basketball world has taken another turn, as the former two-time NBA All-Star has been traded from the Wisconsin Herd to the Cleveland Charge, the Cavaliers’ G-League affiliate. This move marks another chapter in Oladipo's quest to reignite his career following a series of injuries that have kept him from the NBA spotlight.

Oladipo joined the Herd back in November, seen as a potential comeback story worth watching. However, his time with the Bucks’ affiliate has concluded, and his new opportunity lies with the Charge.

While his stint in Wisconsin saw him play 15 games, starting eight, Oladipo averaged 13.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.8 assists. Despite these solid numbers, his shooting percentages-39/33/78-echoed his last NBA season with the Miami Heat.

At 33, Oladipo is looking to make a mark in Cleveland, where the Cavaliers have also brought in former Bucks player Chris Livingston. Livingston has been contributing both for the Cavaliers and the Charge, averaging 15.4 points per game in the G-League.

Oladipo's professional journey spans a decade and includes 504 NBA games with teams like the Magic, Pacers, Heat, Rockets, and Thunder. His peak came during his time with the Indiana Pacers, where he earned the Most Improved Player award in the 2017-18 season, averaging a career-high 23.1 points per game and leading the league in steals. His defensive prowess also earned him a spot on the All-Defense First Team.

Unfortunately, injuries have been a persistent hurdle since his breakout year. After being limited to 36 games in the 2018-19 season, Oladipo struggled to stay on the court, playing just 138 games over the next four years.

Yet, his determination to return to the NBA remains unwavering, showcasing a resilience that continues to inspire. Whether this move to Cleveland will pave the way for a return to the NBA remains to be seen, but Oladipo's story is far from over.
