The Milwaukee Bucks have made a strategic move by signing Cormac Ryan to a two-way contract, bringing him up from the Wisconsin Herd. This is a significant step for Ryan, who has been making waves in the G League with impressive stats that caught the Bucks' attention.
Ryan's journey to the NBA has been a winding one. After going undrafted out of UNC in 2024, he cut his teeth with the Oklahoma City Blue before joining the Herd.
This season, he's been a standout performer in the G League, averaging 20.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. His shooting has been particularly noteworthy, boasting a line of .486/.421/.884.
At 27, Ryan isn't your typical fresh-faced rookie. His extensive college career, spanning Stanford, Notre Dame, and North Carolina, has given him a maturity and experience that the Bucks clearly value.
This two-way contract marks his first in-season NBA deal, a testament to his hard work and performance in the G League. Previously, he had non-guaranteed camp stints with both OKC and Milwaukee.
The Bucks had an open two-way slot since waiving Mark Sears in January, allowing them to bring Ryan on board without needing to make further roster adjustments. He joins Alex Antetokounmpo and Pete Nance as part of Milwaukee’s two-way roster.
Under this new contract, Ryan can be active for up to 13 NBA regular-season games for the remainder of the 2025/26 season. While he steps onto the NBA stage, he'll also continue to be a pivotal player for the Herd, balancing his roles between the two leagues. This opportunity not only rewards Ryan's G League excellence but also adds depth to the Bucks' lineup as they look to strengthen their squad.
