Bucks Hand Brewers Fans A Perfect Cross-Sports Roast Moment

The Milwaukee Bucks take a light-hearted approach on social media as the city's sporting spotlight shifts to the Brewers' historic World Series victory.

The Brewers’ title run gave Milwaukee something to celebrate on Wednesday night, and the Bucks were quick to join in.

After Milwaukee beat the Tampa Bay Rays, 4-1, in Game 5 of the World Series at Tropicana Field to win its first-ever championship, the Bucks posted a brief message on X to salute the city’s baseball team.

“WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS. Congratulations, Brewers!”

William Contreras, Cooper Pratt, and Jacob Misiorowski were central to the win as the Brewers handled the Rays, who had avoided a sweep in Game 4 on Tuesday.

The celebration arrived on a rough night for the Bucks, who were blown out by the Houston Rockets, 132-100, at Fiserv Forum and fell to 1-4. Tyler Herro scored 23 points and grabbed three rebounds, while Jaime Jaquez Jr. finished with 19 points and four rebounds.

Herro’s connection to the moment made it hit a little harder, too. He grew up rooting for the Brewers.

Fans were ready to pile on after the baseball team’s championship, with social media quickly turning the Bucks’ miserable start into a joke.

“Sacrificed Giannis (Antetokounmpo) for a World Series championship,” said @boofpackbuck.

“Brewers in World Series: WWWLW. Bucks in first five games: LLLWL,” noted @jend04_.

“How long until the Bucks get back there?” asked @TheMidwayTake.

“Only Milwaukee sport that will win a championship,” claimed @J1P7H.

“Rockets spanked y'all tonight, BTW 😂,” commented @BronsHoodi.

The Bucks are in the middle of a rebuilding period, with Antetokounmpo, Bobby Portis Jr., and Kevin Porter Jr. no longer on the roster. Their next chance to bounce back comes Saturday against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Bucks Blowout Exposes An Early Problem Fans Will Recognize

A home loss like this is the kind that can feel bigger than the final score, because it laid bare an issue Bucks fans have seen before. Milwaukee was overwhelmed by Houston in a 132-100 defeat, and the offense never really found a rhythm after a rough first half, when the shots stopped falling and the possessions started to look familiar in all the wrong ways.

Tyler Herro led the Bucks with 23 points, but the support behind him was thin, with Jaime Jaquez Jr. among the few others able to chip in. Houston stayed unbeaten behind 24 points apiece from Fred VanVleet and Amen Thompson, and for Milwaukee the concern is less about one bad night than the way the scoring dried up when the game started slipping away. Bucks Suddenly Have A Gary Trent Jr. Rotation Problem

Gary Trent Jr. figured to have a more defined role after landing a $64 million contract extension, but the early part of the season has told a different story. Through the Bucks first five games, he has played under seven minutes total, a startlingly small workload for a player the team clearly values enough to keep around long term.

Coach Taylor Jenkins has leaned on other guards instead, with Tyler Herro, Ryan Rollins, Kasparas Jakucionis and Brayden Burries getting the priority minutes. For now, Trent is stuck at the end of the rotation, picking up depth and mop-up duty, though that picture could change if the Bucks decide to move AJ Green and open up a little more room in the backcourt. Bucks Rough Start Just Put Kyle Kuzma At The Center Of It

The early returns on Milwaukees post-Giannis reset have not been encouraging, and Kyle Kuzma has quickly become one of the most scrutinized figures in it. The Bucks are 1-4 to start the 2026-27 season, and Kuzmas play has slipped from what he produced in previous years, putting a spotlight on a roster that is still trying to find its footing after the offseason trade of Giannis Antetokounmpo.

With the franchise clearly leaning into a rebuild, Kuzmas expiring contract makes him an obvious name to watch in trade chatter. One possible path being discussed would send him to the Chicago Bulls for Patrick Williams and future draft picks, but for now it remains only a scenario, not a finished deal. [Read more 🡒]
