The Brewers’ return to the World Series has already sparked the first round of MVP chatter, and Brice Turang’s name is right in the middle of it.
Milwaukee reached the Fall Classic for the first time since 1982 by sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers, and while Jake Bauers took home NLCS MVP honors after his big series, MLB Network’s World Series MVP predictions pointed in a different direction. In a video posted by the network, multiple pundits and personalities were asked to make their picks, and Turang came up twice.
Matt Vasgersian was first up, and he backed Turang to win the award while also picking the Brewers to win the World Series. Vasgersian said he expects Turang to chip in with a couple stolen bases and a few home runs on the way to the trophy.
Mark DeRosa also chose Turang, and he, too, has Milwaukee winning the series in six games. DeRosa’s pick carries a little extra color, since he managed Turang with Team USA during the World Baseball Classic earlier this year.
Turang wasn’t the only Brewer to get a mention. William Contreras, Jake Bauers, Cooper Pratt, and ace Jacob Misiorowski were also named as possible MVP candidates.
The second baseman put together a strong regular season, batting .268 with 21 home runs and 100 RBIs. But his postseason production has been quieter so far. Through the Brewers’ run to the World Series, he is hitting just .222 with one home run and two RBIs.
Whether Turang heats up in time to match those predictions is now one of the early questions hanging over the series.

Uecker Family Sends Emotional Message As Brewers Chase History
As the Brewers move within reach of their first World Series trip in 44 years, Bob Ueckers family offered Milwaukee a message that fit the moment: pride, gratitude and a reminder of how much the team still means to the city. The familys note honored Ueckers deep connection to the Brewers and to Milwaukee, while also recognizing the players, coaching staff, broadcast team and fans who have carried the run this far.
The message also served as a call for everyone around the team to stay locked together as the stakes keep rising. In a city that long associated Uecker with Brewers baseball, the family framed the chase as something bigger than a postseason push, asking supporters to keep rallying behind the club as history comes into view. Brewers Face One Massive Woodruff Decision Before The World Series
Brandon Woodruff took another meaningful step in his comeback from a shoulder injury when he faced Brewers hitters in a live batting practice session ahead of the World Series. Milwaukee has been building him back carefully since he last pitched in early July, and the next checkpoint is a big one: the club has to decide whether he is ready to be part of the roster it submits before the series begins.
The session gave the Brewers a better feel for where Woodruff stands after a gradual increase in throwing workload, and the evaluation now shifts from recovery mode to roster calculation. For a team that would love to have one more established arm available this time of year, the decision carries obvious weight, but the final call is still waiting to be made. [Read more 🡒]
Brewers Open The World Series With One Big Game 1 Question
The long layoff is over, and the Brewers are finally set to open the World Series at home Friday night against the Rays after a full week off following their sweep in the previous round. Tampa Bay, meanwhile, comes in with a shorter reset after its ALCS victory, and the opener shapes up as a matchup between two arms that have already made a real imprint on October.
Drew Rasmussen is the expected starter for the Rays, while Milwaukee is lining up Jacob Misiorowski for Game 1. Both pitchers have been notable in the postseason, but the Brewers are carrying a particular level of intrigue into this one because the first question is not just how Misiorowski will look under the bright lights, but how deep he can take Milwaukee into the game against a rested opponent with plenty of recent success on the mound.
