Brewers Stun Rockies as Misiorowski and Sproat Deliver Dominant Performances

Misiorowski and Sproat shine as the Brewers snap their losing streak with an 8-4 win over the Rockies, showcasing both power at the plate and depth on the mound.

The Brewers snapped their three-game Cactus League skid with an 8-4 victory over the Rockies, thanks to some power hitting and solid pitching. Brandon Lockridge, David Hamilton, and Joey Ortiz each sent one over the fence, providing the offensive spark Milwaukee needed.

On the mound, Jacob Misiorowski and Brandon Sproat teamed up to deliver 8 ⅔ innings of work. Misiorowski had a shaky start, allowing the first three batters to reach base with some pitches left over the plate.

However, he quickly found his rhythm, striking out six over four innings. Sproat took over and pitched 4 ⅔ innings, yielding just two runs on four hits while fanning three and walking none.

His performance is bolstering his case for a spot in the opening day rotation.

Lockridge's homer in the eighth marked his third of the spring, showcasing his growing power. Ortiz, back from the World Baseball Classic, made an immediate impact with his long ball.

Manager Pat Murphy acknowledged the youth in the rotation, stating, "We're inexperienced, but that doesn't mean we're not good." This reflects the team's confidence in their emerging talent.

As for the prospects, the Brewers fielded a lineup heavy with veterans. Luis Lara, Brock Wilken, and Eric Bitonti each had a brief appearance, while Daniel Dickinson managed a double in his two at-bats.

Looking ahead, the Brewers are set to face the Giants on Sunday with Shane Drohan on the mound, followed by a matchup against the Dodgers on Monday, where Chad Patrick will take the hill. Both games will be broadcast on 620 WTMJ.
