Brewers Have Two Chances To Make Gold Glove History

With Brice Turang and Jackson Chourio leading the charge, the Milwaukee Brewers are poised to add to their Gold Glove legacy this season.

Brice Turang and Jackson Chourio give the Brewers a pair of Gold Glove finalists, and both have a real case when Rawlings hands out the hardware.

Major League Baseball announced its 70th set of Rawlings Gold Glove finalists, with three players listed at each position. Turang landed among the National League second basemen, while Chourio was named a finalist in left field.

The Brewers’ defense has held up well over the course of the 2026 regular season. The club finished above league average in fielding percentage, committed 72 errors - the seventh-fewest in baseball - and did all of that while playing the second-most innings in the field.

Turang’s competition at second base is especially crowded with familiar faces from the NL Central. He’s up against Brandon Lowe of the Pittsburgh Pirates and rookie standout JJ Wetherholt. Turang also has the edge in workload, as only Ozzie Albies played more at the position in the NL.

On the stat sheet, Turang’s five errors put him fifth among National League second basemen and left him with a .992 fielding percentage. His biggest advantage comes in dWAR, where he sits well ahead of the field at 1.1. Wetherholt is next, with Lowe trailing behind.

This is familiar territory for Turang. He’s now been a Gold Glove finalist for three straight seasons, though he has not won since 2024, when he also picked up the Platinum Glove. If he gets the nod this year, he would become just the third Brewers player to win multiple Gold Gloves, joining Cecil Cooper and George Scott.

Chourio’s path is a little different, but the payoff could be just as significant. A win would make him the first Brewers left fielder ever to take home a Gold Glove. Milwaukee has had four outfielders win the award overall, most recently Sal Frelick in 2024 as a right fielder.

Chourio’s finalists in left field are Ian Happ of the Chicago Cubs and Daylen Lile of the Washington Nationals. Among that group, Chourio leads in dWAR at 1.0, ahead of Happ’s 0.6 and Lile’s 0.1. He also tops the NL in fielding percentage with a perfect 1.000 and no errors, though his voting case may be complicated by the fact that he had the six most chances among qualified players.

If both Brewers come through, they’ll become the 14th and 15th players in franchise history to win a Gold Glove. The winners will be announced on November 1st at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Dodgers Face A Brutal Game 4 Pitching Reality With Season On The Line

With the National League Championship Series moving to Game 4 after a loss, the Dodgers are staring at a pitching plan with very little wiggle room. Manager Dave Roberts said Tarik Skubal, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Justin Wrobleski are off limits for the next game, a setup that leaves Los Angeles trying to navigate one of the most difficult spots a club can face this time of year.

Roberts indicated Skubal is lined up to start Game 5 and Yamamoto would follow in Game 6 if the series continues, but the immediate concern is far more basic: the Dodgers have to keep the season alive long enough for those options to matter. Teams that fall behind 3-0 in a best-of-seven postseason series rarely find a way back, which is why the next night carries so much weight. [Read more 🡒]

Brewers Have Dodgers On The Brink Of Something Milwaukee Has Waited 44 Years For

Milwaukee kept turning the screws on the Dodgers in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series, winning 6-2 on Monday night and moving within one victory of a breakthrough the franchise has been chasing for 44 years. The Brewers are now in control of the best-of-seven series, and the pressure keeps shifting squarely onto a Los Angeles club that suddenly needs a perfect response just to extend its season.

Jackson Chourio set the tone immediately with a first-pitch home run, and Garrett Mitchell later added another blast as Milwaukee kept finding timely offense. The nights biggest swing came when Jake Bauers delivered after a long battle with Blake Snell, turning a tight game into a command performance and leaving the Brewers on the doorstep of their first World Series trip in decades. Andrew Vaughns Cooper Pratt Comment Says A Lot About These Brewers

As the Brewers get ready for Game 3 of the 2026 National League Championship Series against the Dodgers, one of the more revealing parts of their rise has been the way Cooper Pratt has fit in. The rookie shortstop has become a meaningful piece of Milwaukees lineup and a steady presence around the club, enough to draw praise from first baseman Andrew Vaughn for the way Pratt has handled the jump to the majors.

Vaughns comments about Pratts growth and maturity spoke to more than just one players development. They also hinted at the tone inside a Brewers clubhouse that has leaned on young contributors to get this far, with Pratts emergence becoming part of the teams identity as the series shifts back onto the field.
