Jacob Misiorowski spent Friday having a little fun with his nickname - and with the WWE star who shares it.
Appearing on the Pat McAfee show, the Milwaukee Brewers pitcher offered up a WWE-style fight with The Miz so he can keep using the name that has followed him through this special season.
“It sounds like I need to get on WWE.. We need to have a fight about this,” Misiorowski said, per the show.

The issue, of course, is that “The Miz” already belongs to the wrestler, who also showed up on McAfee’s show Friday and made it clear he doesn’t love the overlap, even if the whole thing seemed to be played with a wink. McAfee only added to the moment by calling the wrestler “The Mike” on-air, which prompted a quick correction from The Miz.
For Brewers fans, though, the nickname fits. Milwaukee keeps calling its ace “The Miz,” and Misiorowski has backed it up with the kind of season that makes the label stick. The Brewers lead the National League Central at 72-44, and he has been the centerpiece of the rotation with a 1.63 ERA and 11 victories.
He’s also piling up the strikeouts like a true front-line arm. Misiorowski has 195 strikeouts this season, and in his last two starts alone he has racked up 22.
The case for a National League Cy Young push is getting stronger by the week.
Milwaukee has started to separate itself in the division and appears positioned for another postseason run, with fans still hoping this group can finally get all the way to the World Series after falling short in recent years.
The Brewers are back in action Saturday against the Minnesota Twins, and they’ve won six of their last 10 games.
