After a rough 3-5 week, the Big Ten betting board offers a chance to reset in Week 7, and the centerpiece is the kind of matchup that can define a conference race. Ohio State heads to Bloomington to take on Curt Cignetti and Indiana in what shapes up as the game of the year, while Michigan and Penn State are both trying to stop the bleeding.
UCLA also has to answer questions without Nico Iamaleava. It’s a strong slate, and the lines - courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook - reflect it.
Washington at Purdue (-3.5), O/U 51.5, 8 p.m. ET Friday
These two teams sit at 3-3, but that number tells wildly different stories. Washington has been a mess, while Purdue is riding high after getting hot at exactly the right time.
The market has noticed too, with the line moving from Purdue -1.5 to -3.5. The Boilermakers haven’t been dominant against the spread at 3-3, but Washington has been a rough 1-5, and that pushes this one toward the home team.
The pick: Purdue -3.5
Ohio State (-3.5) at Indiana, O/U 51.5, Noon ET Saturday
This is the marquee game of the weekend, and the betting public is leaning hard toward the Buckeyes. According to The Action Network, 79 percent of all bets are on Ohio State, and the line has followed that money.
It’s not every day you see a road team laying 3.5 in a top-five showdown. The under is tempting given how defensive last season’s Big Ten Championship was, but the matchup still points me to Ohio State.
The Buckeyes are 4-2 ATS, while Indiana is only 1-5.
The pick: Ohio State -3.5
Northwestern (-7.5) at Michigan State, O/U 48.5, Noon ET
This one is tricky. Northwestern has been a reliable over team at 4-0-1, and the Wildcats have also been strong against the spread at 4-1.
Michigan State, meanwhile, has leaned to the under at 2-4. Even with more than three-quarters of the bets backing Northwestern, the spread has come down from 10 to 7.5.
That kind of movement is hard to ignore, so I’m siding with the Spartans to respond after last week’s shocker.
The pick: Michigan State +7.5
Rutgers at Maryland (-4.5), O/U 57.5, 12:30 p.m. ET
This is the kind of game only the most committed college football bettors are locking into. Neither side has been especially sharp ATS - Rutgers is 2-3, Maryland is 3-3 - but both have been gold for over bettors.
Rutgers is 4-1 to the over, and Maryland is 5-1. History between these teams points the same direction, with only one of the last five meetings finishing below 48 combined points.
A total of 57.5 is high, but these defenses leave plenty of openings.
The pick: Over 57.5
Penn State at Michigan (-6.5), O/U 42.5, 3:30 p.m. ET
This matchup has all the ingredients for a slog. Michigan has been a frustrating team to back, and Penn State has been just as disappointing.
Both are around .500 ATS, but the totals numbers lean strongly to the under. Michigan is 1-4 against the total, while Penn State is 2-3-1 overall and 0-1-1 on the road.
With Michigan’s staff sticking to the current offensive setup and not making a quarterback change, this has the feel of an ugly, low-scoring game.
The pick: Under 42.5
Wisconsin at UCLA (-2.5), O/U 42.5, 7:30 p.m. ET
UCLA’s line moved sharply after Nico Iamaleava’s season-ending injury was announced, flipping all the way to UCLA -4 before settling back to -2.5. Even with 77 percent of the public backing UCLA, the sharper money has come in on Wisconsin.
That’s a big tell, especially after UCLA’s huge win over Oregon last week. This has the setup of a letdown spot, and Wisconsin looks like the side to grab.
The pick: Wisconsin +2.5
Nebraska at Oregon (-7.5), O/U 52.5, 11 p.m. ET
Dylan Raiola is headed to Eugene to face his former team in one of the more intriguing matchups on the slate. After a turnover-filled game against UCLA, Raiola was benched, and now there’s real uncertainty about whether he even gets the chance at revenge against the Cornhuskers.
The spread has fallen all the way from 22 to 7.5 after last week’s chaos, and that alone says plenty. Nebraska felt like it gave Indiana its best shot, and Oregon should spend the week sorting through the fallout and getting itself right.
The pick: Oregon -7.5

Michigan Teammate Fires Back As Andrew Sprague Rumors Keep Growing
Andrew Spragues absence has become one of the quieter but more persistent storylines around Michigan football since the Oklahoma game, with the offensive tackle sidelined by an unspecified health issue. As the questions have lingered, teammate Jake Guarnera stepped forward publicly to push back on the social media speculation, making clear that Sprague remains with the team and is still contributing even while he has not been on the field.
The comments add some needed clarity, especially after coach Kyle Whittingham said Spragues situation is health-related and that doctors are working on it. For Michigan, the key issue now is less about the online noise and more about patience, since Sprague is not expected back immediately and the Wolverines will have to keep navigating his absence while the recovery process plays out. Michigan Has A Quiet Weapon While The Offense Searches For Answers
While Michigans offense keeps looking for a steadier rhythm, the Wolverines have leaned on a part of the game that has hardly made any noise at all. Through the first five games, Michigan has held every opponent to 20 points or fewer, and when the team has stumbled in losses to Iowa and Minnesota, the defense still gave itself a chance by keeping those games tight. In the background of that grind, sophomore punter Cam Brown has quietly become a useful weapon by regularly forcing opponents to start deep in their own end.
Browns value has been hard to miss for special teams coordinator Kerry Coombs and for teammates who have watched him turn field position into an advantage. His work ethic has drawn praise as Michigan searches for answers on offense, and his consistency has given the Wolverines another way to control games while the bigger issues get sorted out. It is the kind of under-the-radar production that does not usually headline a Saturday, but it has mattered plenty to a team still trying to find its best version. [Read more 🡒]
Michigan Hits A Dangerous Pressure Point Against Penn State
Michigan and Penn State are heading into their Week 7 meeting in the 2026 college football season with both programs trying to steady themselves in Big Ten play. It has not been the kind of stretch either side envisioned under new leadership, with Michigan adjusting to Kyle Whittingham and Penn State working through the early days of Matt Campbells tenure after consecutive conference losses.
For Michigan, the pressure point is hard to miss: the offense still needs to find more consistency, even as Bryce Underwood gives the Wolverines a possible running threat to lean on. Penn State, meanwhile, needs splash plays to change the feel of its own offense, and special teams could end up carrying more weight than usual in a matchup where both teams are searching for any edge that can stop the slide.
