Spring practices are kicking off for the Michigan Wolverines, and the buzz around Ann Arbor is all about recruits making their way to campus. One name to watch is Gabe Jenkins, a four-star safety who’s exploring his options after parting ways with Penn State.
Gabe Jenkins Visits Michigan
Gabe Jenkins, once committed to Penn State, is making his first visit to Michigan. After decommitting following the departure of James Franklin, Jenkins is considering several top programs, including Michigan, Colorado, USC, UCLA, Virginia Tech, and Pitt. Despite still having Penn State in the mix, Michigan seems to be making a strong case.
Jenkins has expressed admiration for Michigan’s family-oriented atmosphere and his connection with new safeties coach Tyler Stockton, saying, “Michigan definitely checks the relationships, the bond and the family.” He appreciates Stockton’s straightforward, old-school approach.
Jenkins has lined up official visits to Colorado, Virginia Tech, and Penn State, and if today’s visit goes well, Michigan might secure a spot on his summer schedule. He’s aiming to make his final decision by the Fourth of July.
Sidney Rouleau’s Upcoming Visits
Sidney Rouleau, a four-star offensive lineman from the class of 2027, is also setting his sights on Michigan. After receiving a re-offer from the new coaching staff, Rouleau plans to visit for the spring game on April 18 and return for an official visit on the weekend of June 5.
Rouleau’s journey has been remarkable. Originally from Canada, he moved to the U.S., attending The Pennington School in New Jersey before transferring to The Brook Hill School in Texas.
His efforts have attracted offers from powerhouse programs like Ohio State, Miami, Texas, Oregon, Georgia, Clemson, Alabama, and Florida. Yet, Michigan is making a strong impression.
Rouleau is excited about building new relationships with the Wolverines’ coaching staff and could potentially join Michigan as a tackle, complementing current commits Tristan Dare and Louis Esposito along the offensive line.
