In a thrilling week for Michigan State gymnastics, senior Olivia Zsarmani has been honored as the Big Ten Specialist of the Week, a recognition announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.
Zsarmani's accolade marks her as the second Spartan to earn this distinction this season, following her teammate Sage Kellerman, who secured the title twice earlier this year. This is Zsarmani's second career win, with her previous recognition dating back to March 2024.
Hailing from Statesville, North Carolina, Zsarmani made a remarkable return to the vault lineup against Ohio State, posting a season-high score of 9.950. Her outstanding performance not only earned her the event title but also played a crucial role in MSU's impressive 197.300-198.650 victory over the 21st-ranked Buckeyes. This score stands as the Spartans' second-highest of the season and marks their fourth consecutive meet scoring over 197.000.
Looking ahead, the 11th-ranked Spartans are set to wrap up Big Ten action on Sunday, March 1, at 4 p.m. ET.
They'll face off against No. 13 Minnesota, Illinois, and Rutgers at the Big Four Meet in Minneapolis.
