Miami Dolphins Event to Impact Roads: What You Need to Know

Expect significant traffic changes in Miami and Broward this Saturday as the Dolphins Cancer Challenge takes to the streets for a crucial fundraising effort.

Traffic in Miami-Dade and Broward counties is set to see some action on Saturday, Feb. 28, thanks to the Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC). This annual event rallies cyclists and runners to fundraise for cancer research and patient care, weaving through some of South Florida's iconic spots.

Kicking things off bright and early at 6 a.m. is the Jason Taylor ride. Cyclists will embark on a 100-mile journey from the Miami International Autodrome at Hard Rock Stadium, cruising through scenic South Beach, Sunny Isles, Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale, and Lighthouse Point. Expect these dedicated riders to be on the road for seven to nine hours.

Next up is the Zach Thomas ride, a 54-mile route starting at 8 a.m. This ride takes participants through downtown Fort Lauderdale, along the picturesque Fort Lauderdale Beach, and through Birch State Park, before heading back along the coastline to Hard Rock Stadium.

The Larry Csonka ride, covering 39 miles, offers a different starting point. Beginning at the University of Miami in Coral Gables at 8:30 a.m., cyclists will pedal through Coconut Grove and Brickell, cross the Julia Tuttle Causeway to Miami Beach, and pass through Surfside, Bal Harbour, and Hallandale Beach, wrapping up at Hard Rock Stadium.

For those looking for a shorter ride, the 13-mile Dan Marino ride starts at 10 a.m. Riders will explore Miami Gardens, Miramar Boulevard, West Park, and parts of Pembroke Park, before circling back to the stadium.

And if you're participating in the 5K, no need to worry about traffic-it takes place entirely on the track at the Miami International Autodrome.

Whether you're riding, running, or cheering from the sidelines, the DCC promises a day of community spirit and support for a vital cause.
